hi guys my d turbo seems to have given up as pooring smoke out when warm what turbos will fit does a hdi turbo fit

turbo fitment - Jtrigga - 25-06-2013

What colour is the smoke if its black your turbo is fine. A hdi isn't a direct fit and is pointless anyway. You can get any turbo to fit if you know what your doing. But as standard they come with a t2, k14, gt15 and a k03.

RE: turbo fitment - Mitch - 25-06-2013

A turbo off a HDI will not fit, youve got the choice of K14, T2, KO3 and GT15, all can be found on xuds, id personally go for the ko3 or gt15, nothing wrong with the other 2 just that there a bit laggy! You for sure your turbo has gone? Do you have a bit more info for us?

RE: turbo fitment - ashkid - 25-06-2013

white/blue smoke and cant see the cars behind... cars fine till been boosting a while my mate thinks its the bearing getting warm then leaking hence all the smoke when cars been driven for a few miles

also have oil in my top mount and with it off when i rev it it comes out the top left pipe

RE: turbo fitment - Mitch - 25-06-2013

Sounds like its had it then mate, find yourself a good second hand one!

turbo fitment - Jtrigga - 25-06-2013

Yeah that sounds like it has gone I'd change it soon otherwise you could have a runaway. Gt15 and k03 are okay but I've killed them within a few weeks t2 k14 is a lot stronger.

RE: turbo fitment - Mitch - 25-06-2013

I had a runaway when my k14 went pop, trying to stall your car in 5th on a main road is not the best of situations! I have a t2 on now, seems a better turbo than the k14 to be honest

RE: turbo fitment - Piggy - 25-06-2013

Ive gone from k14 to t2....big change.

wacked on a mbc too...again nice change

RE: turbo fitment - ashkid - 25-06-2013

ok cool yer a few times ive come off a round about and its started revving its self so proberly wont be long ill try find one soon as then on a tight budget aswell should i find one for around 60quid?

RE: turbo fitment - WiNgNuTz - 25-06-2013

Tbqh mate, if the turbos giving up, and its revving itself coming off roundabouts, i'd put the car off the road until you can get it changed. I'd rather walk/be a bus wanker than have to watch my car rev itself into oblivion...

what sort of change do you get? keep meaning to put mine on but never get round to it

I've had both k14 and t2 I didn't really notice that much difference they are both pretty much the same size I'd go k14 easier to adjust the waste gate you can easily find one for £60.

RE: turbo fitment - Jenkosowls - 26-06-2013
