Garden Project - Grant - 09-06-2013

So, started this project back in late summer last year.

It was supposed to be finished by christmas but various personal and family issues got in the way. Finaaalllllyy got it near enough finished today.

I'm glad to see it finished, but also kinda sad as I used to like escaping to the garden and getting wrapped up in it. Theres still some more to do like flower beds all around it to hide the scabby cement etc, but from the construction side its near enough there.

Ill have to build a conservatory next to keep me out of trouble haha

Just thought I'd share this weekends progress that was for once, not on the car Smile

good base for a twin post ramp ! when you putting the roof on it

RE: Garden Project - kingy - 09-06-2013

Being a ground worker I can spot some things wrong with it but all in all it looks alright mate.

RE: Garden Project - Grant - 09-06-2013

I've still yet to cut the arc to the sides of the steps.
The step risers are too shallow (old lady changed her mind last minute and i was not re-doing all the brickwork)

If you'd like to point out anything I've perhaps missed?

x

RE: Garden Project - C.A.R. - 09-06-2013

What's the thing in the middle? I don't geddit. Is it a BBQ? Or a wishing well? Or a really small pond? Or a tunnel to China?

RE: Garden Project - kingy - 09-06-2013

Thats it mate. Didnt know you where cutting a arch in th steps and idealy all steps should be the same. I'd also be tempted to edge the steps as well like you've done at the top. Does look alright though.

RE: Garden Project - Grant - 09-06-2013

Its a water feature. Unfortunately no immigrant trafficking happening here. Drystone yorkstone walling with a caledonian pebble infill.
The feature is getting done next weekend all being well.

RE: Garden Project - Kimmie - 09-06-2013

I still say it would make a better fire pit....

Yeah, the steps were the same, then somebody changed their mind on a mowing strip and overall level. Bloody women.

RE: Garden Project - Connor - 09-06-2013

I don't get it? Plonked right in the middle of the garden

RE: Garden Project - Grant - 09-06-2013

Where else would you put a patio connor? In the kitchen? lol

This ^^^

I've let my garden go for ages, spent all day today chopping at it with a chainsaw...

Still looks wank.

Near the house? Near some decking? Near something... Not just plonked in the middle of nowhere

RE: Garden Project - Kimmie - 09-06-2013

Grant's garden is huge, it actually looks really nice in the middle Smile

I particularly like the tent in tree feature of grants garden

RE: Garden Project - kingy - 09-06-2013

Conner has got a point. Ive done hundreds of em but never in the middle of nowhere. Not without a path anyway

RE: Garden Project - Grant - 09-06-2013

Sheezus a tough crowd tonight.

If you were standing in the garden and turned around 180 degrees another patio with a pergola is about 15ft behind you, up against the side of the garden. This is to be the main feature when looking out of the house, and a path will be added in due time.

Good job i spend 6 years landscaping Smile lol

RE: Garden Project - kingy - 09-06-2013

Well why didn't you say that in the first place then. Lol.

You would have thought you would have the hang of it now then.

RE: Garden Project - Dum-Dum - 09-06-2013

I kinda thought it was missing the bottom bit and the top bit to make it into a giant cock shape

RE: Garden Project - Matt - 09-06-2013

I did think of you mate but I wasn't gonna ask on a Sunday, it's meant to be lie-in day lol

RE: Garden Project - Grant - 10-06-2013

You have to or you can't afford to live! Can afford to be lazy on a Sunday up here at 2 quid a pint and with cheap housing. Don't have to pay a fiver to drive into Leeds city centre either Wink
