Look what I found - kentiiboii - 06-06-2013

So was just walking to the shop with my mrs telling her that I wanna find a old car so I can take my time restoring it for when I turn 25 for classic insurance.
Then I stumbled upon this...

Its been at this garage for a while but never realised it was a dimma.
Going to ask the owner about it tomorrow see if hes willing to part with it.
From what I can see the front bunper is in the car as well as 2 blue buckets.
Looks fairly ok but paint is dull. No damage to the kit.
Engine looks to be in bits from what I can tell through them massive vents.

What engine would be in this?
Would it be worth fitting a xud?
How much is it worth in this state?
How much is it worth finished?

RE: Look what I found - cwspellowe - 06-06-2013

The kit alone is worth a few quid. I'd chance it a few hundred quid to see if they just want rid. Could be an old customer that never paid a bill or something so it's just sat rotting..

Yeah I know its been there a good few years. Ive seen it a lot but always driving so just figured it was a nornal 205.

RE: Look what I found - Dum-Dum - 06-06-2013

yeah worth a few hundred as is, worth probably £1500-£3500 finished

Re: Look what I found - kentiiboii - 06-06-2013

Thanks going to ask tomorrow. Would the kit be metal, plastic or fibre glass?

RE: Look what I found - Eeyore - 06-06-2013

awesome! would be brilliant to make it mint!

RE: Look what I found - Jenkosowls - 06-06-2013

There was a rolling Dimma shell that Selt on eBay other month for less than £150!

RE: Look what I found - cwspellowe - 06-06-2013

RE: Look what I found - Grant - 07-06-2013

If its a genuine Dimma kit then IIRC it should all be metal.

Thats the main giveaway, if theres any fiberglass on it then its been pranged and cheaply repaired. A good example is springs old Dimma Cabby.

This would dramatically reduce the value when finished if it is the case.

Hope that helps Smile

RE: Look what I found - Birk - 07-06-2013

Cant see it been a genuine dimma with those wheels.

Re: Look what I found - kentiiboii - 12-06-2013

Went to speak to the garage saturday but they was closed and car had gone. Walked past today and it was back so they must just keep it in garage at weekends.
Panels on one side feel orignal metal which is good. Tax disc ran out in 2008. Still not spoke as ive been working till late. But tomorrow im off.

Anyone mind doing a reg check for me so I know what im dealing with?

RE: Look what I found - swampy - 12-06-2013

RE: Look what I found - ginge191 - 12-06-2013

Nice. Looks genuine. Dimma 205 wheels were dished pepperpots and 5 spokes; looks the real deal with metal panels also!
This would probably have the mi16 engine in I'd assume. Worth a mint as it is..

Almost certain it's smooth

RE: Look what I found - ginge191 - 12-06-2013

Cancel that. iPhone pics are hard to view.
It doesn't look too genuine. A lot of replicas tend to be fibreglass.
I'd be interested to know what this may be

RE: Look what I found - Birk - 13-06-2013

Not sure about you, but ive never seen any Dimma 5 spoke's the ones on the car look like revolution wheels, compomotive were the ones who made the wheels for Dimma.
