suspension set up - sqweeky - 28-05-2013 my 306 hdi is lowered on collies roughly 60mm maybe tad lower, its come to a time to raise it back up, collies are sezied!!!!!!, tried number of tricks to free them up, im thinking of replacing them with sum 40mm/30mm springs and shocks, anybody point me in right direction to get a good set, eg ( pi, gmax, etc) this is how it looks at min raising due to my family getting bigger and don't wanna sell the pug, Re: suspension set up - kentiiboii - 28-05-2013 Wow that's sexual. Colour of the gods. I need to get my smooth boot painted! RE: suspension set up - Tom - 28-05-2013 Cut the retaining/locking rings off the coils and replace them? There must be a way to get them moving. RE: suspension set up - sqweeky - 28-05-2013 never really thought of that ! RE: suspension set up - Connor - 28-05-2013 Try manning up? RE: suspension set up - samass - 29-05-2013 Big hammer RE: suspension set up - Tom - 29-05-2013 Thats a last resort really. Plumbers grips? Hammer and chisel? RE: suspension set up - Ben - 29-05-2013 Use a wire brush best you can to clean the threads above and below the locking rings so that they have a good thread to wind onto. Spray them with wd40 or similar for couple days to help a little bit. Make sure your c spanner fits well and if that slips off then try stilsons. Nice looking car btw! RE: suspension set up - Tom - 31-05-2013 Only had to cut them off on a set of weitecs with plastic rings :/ if they're metal you should fine! RE: suspension set up - Atterz - 31-05-2013 Or just hammer 90 degress to the flats on the rings and it should break them loose, then use the C spanner. O and then copper grease the threads to avoid it happening again! RE: suspension set up - ConorTRG - 31-05-2013 That car looks well. Anyway scrub the threads with a wire brush, and spray a bit of degreaser around the collars aswell, spray on a bit of diesel/oil aswell after scrubbing, use a good spanner or if there real tight use a square drift on the collars, screw them down the way first, also hit the collars a few times usually helps. RE: suspension set up - maguire1992 - 04-06-2013 Take them out and leave them in diesel for a few days only way I could get a set to budge RE: suspension set up - olliexs - 04-09-2013 what coilovers and size tyres u running looks sweet |
