Cambelt/Water pump recommendation - THE_Liam - 24-05-2013

Jenksowls is doing my Bosch conversion next weekend, what kit would people recommend and where's best to get it?

RE: Cambelt/Water pump recommendation - ConorTRG - 24-05-2013

We mostly use gates timing kits and qh waterpumps, continental are also a good kit.

RE: Cambelt/Water pump recommendation - Jenkosowls - 24-05-2013

Gates is what I use belt kit wise. There usually a bitch to get on as there quite tight and grippy with the power grip particles in them. Water pump just any decent brand one like QH I don't think Ecp or cpfl do gates stuff. eBay has the kits for around £80-90 mark

Cool, I'll order a Gates one. Are all the XUD kits the same? I saw one cheap that was marked for an NAD but surely it's the same?

Re: Cambelt/Water pump recommendation - Tyronnster - 25-05-2013

Wouldn't cheap on timing belt. Got nine from Ni

Some XUD water pumps differ. I found this out the hard way.
I've got an SKF water pump here if you want it, brand new.

RE: Cambelt/Water pump recommendation - ConorTRG - 25-05-2013

There's 2 different kits, they come with 2 different backing plates on the idler pulley.

Cambelt/Water pump recommendation - RePT - 25-05-2013

I have a gates tensionor and pulley, make me an offer Smile unused, box was opened for cambelt though.

Cambelt/Water pump recommendation - THE_Liam - 25-05-2013

Anyone got a part number? There's about 15 different kits...

Cambelt/Water pump recommendation - THE_Liam - 25-05-2013

Is service box where you find the exact part number? Does anyone have it?

RE: Cambelt/Water pump recommendation - ConorTRG - 26-05-2013

Here's the part numbers of the 2 different gates kits, if you look at the idler pulley on the car and then go to the motor factors you'll know which to get.

The SKF kit I got from ECP came with a Gates belt.

RE: Cambelt/Water pump recommendation - mr_fish - 08-01-2014

good price there, I gave £80 for mine, though it came with a waterpump too.

Gates all the way here.

RE: Cambelt/Water pump recommendation - Tom - 08-01-2014

Is that the right one for xud? I'll get a waterpump on its own from somewhere.
