Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - Ricky - 20-05-2013 Probably going to sell my turbo along with a few bits. Garrett GT2052s from a Mercedes E220 cdi, complete with TD04 actuator, bolted to a T2 non EGR manifold. Will come with oil lines, air filter and induction piping, MBC and relevant piping to attach it to the LDA pipe. Think the turbo is in ok condition, little shaft play but I think the slack gets taken up by the oil. Exhaust side has been modified slightly, the V-band 3" connection has been grinded down to fit a normal 3" v band clamp. Was running around 20-22psi most of the time. Boosts nicely, no strange noises and sounds awesome with the filter and a good exhaust. If one day the turbo fails, then a replacement can be found and bolted straight to the exhaust housing to save messing about, could probably be done on the car tbh. Keep it around 22psi maximum and it should be reliable, although i'm not guaranteeing that! The filter is a Ramair foam filter, with 70mm dual ply silicone ducting to a 70-63mm reducer to the turbo. It sounds pretty awesome. IMPORTANT: You will need to fabricate a downpipe for this yourself as I will not sell mine, so please don't even ask. Also the manifold has a hole in it for an egt probe. Only pictures I have: ![]() ![]() ![]() Due to the fact that it has been/will be run at higher boost than standard, this is sold as seen. Think that's everything, I think £220 is fair. REDUCED TO £200 RE: GI:Garrett GT2052s with extras - cwspellowe - 20-05-2013 ![]() I can't reiterate enough how amazing these GT blowers are on XUD's. They drive so differently to TD04's and boost comes in silly early, like peak boost way before 2.5krpm and they hold up to 5krpm easily. And FYI the GT's have a small amount of side to side play as standard due to the design of the bearing, the oil takes up this slack. Only excessive side to side play and in/out play are to worry about. Well worth the money, just hope noone assumes because TD04's are getting cheap that this should also be cheap. Worlds apart in my eyes. RE: GI:Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - Ricky - 20-05-2013 Also these don't really compare to TD04's power wise, these are king of midrange punch and torque, the 52 should make a healthy 150hp with a decent fuel setup and around 20psi. Makes for an awesome drive. RE: GI:Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - Anton - 20-05-2013 Amen to that ^^^ I am hitting full boost (24psi) by 2k! TD04's are great for making big power at high revs but a GT'd XUD will be away long before the TD04 has chance to catch up. Torque ftmfw. RE: GI:Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - Frosty - 20-05-2013 I guess you wouldnt want to split and sell the air filter and pipe seperate? RE: GI:Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - Ricky - 20-05-2013 I may split if there's no interest in the lot. RE: GI:Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - Frosty - 20-05-2013 ok cuz i would be interested in the air filter and pipe RE: GI:Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - Chris_90 - 20-05-2013 Has any one dyno proven this turbo/the same turbo to see over 150bhp? Ruan made 175 at 21-22 psi on a GT2052V iirc RE: GI:Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - ozonehostile - 20-05-2013 i can vouch for how fun this turbo is on an xud, drove this very one from rickys to mine with a grin all the way home, such a punchy little turbo, you just look at the throttle and its already at full boost. If my pump was set up properly I'm sure it would have touched 150. RE: GI:Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - Ruan - 21-05-2013 Same compressor as my old VNT, should easily make 160hp at around 20lbs of boost.. Id expect to see 150hp at around tbe 18lbs Mark, you'd be amazed what modern GTs will do with feck all boost... RE: GI:Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - cwspellowe - 21-05-2013 (21-05-2013, 10:20 AM)Ruan Wrote: Same compressor as my old VNT, should easily make 160hp at around 20lbs of boost.. RE: GI:Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - silverzx - 21-05-2013 Whats the spool like compared to a VNT Ruan? RE: GI:Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - darrenjlobb - 21-05-2013 Tbh on a turbo that size, not much odds between it and the VNT i wouldnt have thought, given that trying to run any boost any lower down will just result in surge / high torque anyway... For a quick mid range muncher, its the perfect turbo. RE: GI:Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - Ruan - 21-05-2013 Yeah, to be fair, you won't notice much difference between a V and a S, the RPMs they'll produce usable boost will be about the same, you'll notice a difference on gearchange, the time it takes when you press back on the accelerator to get back to full power is less than a Wastegater, but it's an awesome turbo tbf! RE: GI:Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - ozonehostile - 22-05-2013 the turbo is off the car now so someone buy it! haha not too difficult getting it on or off, biggest PITA is the inlet manifold RE: Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - Ricky - 26-05-2013 Reduced to 200, could do with the money. RE: Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - TarnLad2013 - 21-06-2013 take any less? RE: Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - Ricky - 21-06-2013 £180, but that's not including postage. RE: Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - Jimbo - 21-06-2013 I have to ask why you wont sell this with the down pipe seems odd as the sort of completes the kit as a 'bolt on ' Surely you haven't got another use for it RE: Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - Mattcheese31 - 21-06-2013 (21-06-2013, 03:55 PM)Jimbo Wrote: I have to ask why you wont sell this with the down pipe seems odd as the sort of completes the kit as a 'bolt on ' he's obviously gonna use it again . . ![]() RE: Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - TarnLad2013 - 21-06-2013 sent you a pm mattcheese31 RE: Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - Ricky - 21-06-2013 want to keep the downpipe because its the most difficult part to make up again, incase I ever need it again. RE: Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - Dave - 21-06-2013 To be fair, this would be so much more appealing to alot of people, if it were a bolt-on kit, as it means people wont have to make up the downpipe themselves. You know how to make it up, you've already done it, where as someone else who dosent have tools/the know how cant do it so easy so less reluctant to buy. Bolt on kit ftw! ![]() RE: Garrett GT2052s with induction, oil lines, MBC - Ricky - 21-06-2013 I didn't make it though my father in law made it up for me, took him a lot of his own time to mock up and weld. If I made it I would sell it. I know its a pain though. |
