hub repair replace? - sqweeky - 16-05-2013 Putting my wheel back on today and when doing the wheel nuts back up 1 has stripped, when taking wheel nuts off to begin with they were well tight, Wheel nuts fine must be hub, Is it a easy fix or a replacement? RE: hub repair replace? - puglove - 16-05-2013 Get a tap and and clean the threads out RE: hub repair replace? - Niall - 16-05-2013 try and get a tap/thread restorer through it. If that doesnt fix it, you could try drilling it out and helicoiling it but i really wouldn't on a wheel bolt. Its a half hour job to change a hub. RE: hub repair replace? - sqweeky - 16-05-2013 Ok will try, s/h hub or new 1 if needed, guess new be pricey RE: hub repair replace? - miles - 16-05-2013 New one will need a new wheel bearing as well, the hub and carrier and 2 separate parts. You could as a temp use a Timesert which is as good as a normal thread and can be used over and over unlike helicoils RE: hub repair replace? - sqweeky - 17-05-2013 Anybody know what size tap i need?
