Power Steering - Toast - 15-05-2013 I suspect a leak in the power steering whats the best way of tracking a cause or leak in the system? RE: Power Steering - londondan86 - 15-05-2013 I take it your reservoir level has dropped? Observation really, check all the pipes to and from the pump and rack. RE: Power Steering - Poodle - 16-05-2013 As above. If that doesn't show anything up you can degrease the outside of all your piping etc, then spread a small amount of talcum powder about and go for a drive - should be nice and easy to spot any wet patches when you get back. RE: Power Steering - Toast - 16-05-2013 Common sense was lacking there on my part! The level was low when i bought the car, by low i mean empty. seems pretty stable but may have dropped slightly again. Is there anywhere more common than anywhere else for a leak to develop? RE: Power Steering - londondan86 - 16-05-2013 On my last car it split a pipe just ny the reservoir but any can go to be honest. Re: Power Steering - Toast - 16-05-2013 Got saturday to go over it so ill get it up on stands and have a good look |
