Power Steering - Toast - 15-05-2013

I suspect a leak in the power steering whats the best way of tracking a cause or leak in the system?

I take it your reservoir level has dropped? Observation really, check all the pipes to and from the pump and rack.

As above. If that doesn't show anything up you can degrease the outside of all your piping etc, then spread a small amount of talcum powder about and go for a drive - should be nice and easy to spot any wet patches when you get back.

Common sense was lacking there on my part! The level was low when i bought the car, by low i mean empty. seems pretty stable but may have dropped slightly again. Is there anywhere more common than anywhere else for a leak to develop?

On my last car it split a pipe just ny the reservoir but any can go to be honest.
