Doesn't feel right, almost died - declantg - 12-05-2013 Went to pick a mate up last night and while going about 50 round some bends (wet) the car just didn't feel right, hard to explain but will try. I was turning the wheel but it just wasn't turning how I would expect it to, then when I corrected my position it felt wavy and I ende up on the other side of the road! Now I know what skidding/ sliding feels like but definitely wasn't that, checked all my wheels bolts were tight and pressure in tyres, What could it be?? RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - Just Sean - 12-05-2013 Getunderneath and have a good look, tug on all the suspension components. RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - declantg - 12-05-2013 That's the next step I was thinking, will wait until its dry again, f*ck driving until then RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - Scott - 12-05-2013 Could be the rear beam mounts. RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - declantg - 12-05-2013 I did wonder about that actually, good shout. How can I check them? Or is it a drop the beam job? RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - kingy - 12-05-2013 steering rack???? mrs has the same problem on her golf and been told its the rack. RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - ConorTRG - 12-05-2013 I'd say it could be the rack aswell. RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - Poodle - 12-05-2013 Are you on the original shocks dec? Had this with the cabby, was like driving on ice sometimes, other times you'd be doing 50 in a straight line and it'd start swaying like a boat. Sorted it with new shocks. RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - declantg - 12-05-2013 Yes poodle! That's exactly what it feels like, Still on original shocks yeah RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - Eeyore - 12-05-2013 some ta technix coilovers will sort that out RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - samass - 13-05-2013 Don't you have saxo springs on the front too? Can't imagine that'd help at all RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - declantg - 13-05-2013 Yeah spaxo springs up front RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - samass - 13-05-2013 Thought so, get some coilies on there man, even shitty tas will handle better RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - declantg - 13-05-2013 Yeah that's the plan mate x RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - samass - 13-05-2013 Sweet AS bruu RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - puglove - 13-05-2013 id go with scottbon this. sounds exactly what my estate is like. and its because the beam mount aelre totaly shagged on it. its just constanly steering from the rear in what ever direction it feels like. RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - rd070707 - 13-05-2013 Out of interest how much is it for decent beam mounts? RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - puglove - 13-05-2013 depends what you want solid or new gen peugeot ones RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - rd070707 - 13-05-2013 I like idea of solid but gen pug ones would do if they were cheaper RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - puglove - 13-05-2013 i dunno what gen pug ones are but solids are £180 inc vat from bbm IIRC RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - rd070707 - 13-05-2013 Damn...any cheaper solutions? lol RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - titch - 13-05-2013 (13-05-2013, 01:04 PM)rd070707 Wrote: Damn...any cheaper solutions? lol I think mine is doing this to, i have had a knock from the rear for a little while and also under heavy braking it feels like the rear is not right. I have just got some solid mounts ready to go on. RE: Doesn't feel right, almost died - puglove - 13-05-2013 umm no lol other than patten parts . dont qoute me on it but i think gens are around the £100 mark. personaly i think the BBMs are well worth the money. i wouldnt go back now |
