Setting up Bosch fuel pump for maximum throttle travel - 306Puggy - 06-05-2013 Right, this is a task that is trickier than it looks. As standard, the pump lever will not travel far at all, which is a problem if you are running more fuel and as a result need to adjust the throttle arm on the splines. Below is a diagram which will show how the pump should be setup for maximum travel: With the above modifications you will not need to move your throttle arm more than 1 spline on the thorttle shaft and you will still get maximum travel, even when the throttle is pressed from inside the vehicle. To test this, you can wedge a piece of suitable lengthed wood between the thorttle pedal and the drivers' seat if you bring it forward. Then from the engine bay see if there is any excess travel in the lever. If you have set it up as shown there won't be unless the cable is slack or something else has happened. |
