Hmm what to do! - NP306 - 05-05-2013 Right i have a 330i saloon 2001 in showroom condition but i fancy something different, Ive seen a M3 Evo convertible but i dont know if its worth me keeping this or changing it ive been thinking about it none stop for the past few days. Mines got 70k showroom condition everything looks new on it and the m3 has 92 and is on 1999 it could do with new seats.. What do you guys think i should do? Keep mine or part ex? RE: Hmm what to do! - the milkman - 06-05-2013 Sell it, get some cash buy a 306 and spend the rest on epic amount of mods RE: Hmm what to do! - Dum-Dum - 06-05-2013 (06-05-2013, 01:37 PM)the milkman Wrote: Sell it, get some cash buy a 306 and spend the rest on epic amount of mods This RE: Hmm what to do! - 4WayDiablo - 06-05-2013 Your asking us for advice on a BMW?! RE: Hmm what to do! - NP306 - 06-05-2013 I do have a 306! but i love my german cars too And yes i am! want something i can keep but will hold its value RE: Hmm what to do! - lolsteve - 06-05-2013 306s aren't something that loose value though (unless broken) they might even go up RE: Hmm what to do! - Birk - 06-05-2013 M3 evo's with healthy engines are pretty fast. If its a good price, do it. RE: Hmm what to do! - NP306 - 06-05-2013 (06-05-2013, 07:44 PM)Birk Wrote: M3 evo's with healthy engines are pretty fast. If its a good price, do it. Its got fsh and is on 92k guy wants 4750 for it. It does need new seats though its something that will annoy me so im 50/50 if its worth me getting rid of something thats in good condition. RE: Hmm what to do! - Birk - 06-05-2013 Needs to be in great condition at that price even if it is low mileage. And I'll guarantee the vanos will be buggered, most of them are, the solenoids twist in the case and score the barrels, then they start to leak fluid and don't work properly. Mucho's money to fix with a vanos refurb. RE: Hmm what to do! - Connor - 06-05-2013 And the specialist tools required to time up the vanos units are kept mainly at dealers RE: Hmm what to do! - NP306 - 07-05-2013 (06-05-2013, 11:08 PM)Connor Wrote: And the specialist tools required to time up the vanos units are kept mainly at dealers PFFT! tell me about it, my vanos rattle slightly when i start the car up for the first 30 seconds i rarely use the car but think ima have to make my wallet empty for a while and get them sorted RE: Hmm what to do! - Just Sean - 07-05-2013 its only a 330i saloon... why is it so special? or have i missed something? RE: Hmm what to do! - Midnightclub - 07-05-2013 Vanos seals are a common item to go, i believe BMW don't even sell replacements and advise replacing the whole vanos unit itself.. Guy on eBay canada sells uprated ones though, my bro just bought some for his E46 328i and its perfect now. RE: Hmm what to do! - Midnightclub - 07-05-2013 Not handy, next time i'm round his i'll get him to link me and i'll paste it here. Vanos wasn't even working til the seals were replaced though lol! |
