So, got my sp alloys going on this week but thinking long term and want some banded steelies for winter with budgets on!
What size will fit over gti brakes? What steelies are suitable for banding/who does banding, how much etc?
Don't know much at all so any info appreciated!

Will need to be 15" minimum unless your running ones with silly offsets

Dont use alonze customs, thats my advice. Both sets of theirs ive seen, the faces arent parallel and the wheels wobble as they spin. As far as im concerned, dont cheap out on them...

So 15s would go over gti brakes? What's the max offset I could go with spacers etc and for it to be legal? And tyre size for a bit of stretch?

I had mine done by Alonze Custom. Seem ok there cut on a lathe he said so there perfectly round. However theres no types on them yet to try. But he does a lot of wheels so people must use him for a good reason

Yeah he gave my pals the same sales patter, about how they use the same jig and never have any issues apparently, but i've a video up of how bad they are. One wheel was 120g out on the balancer!
Once we noticed Xav's were doing it, we checked Craigs and his were wobbling too.

I know a guy in Newcastle who does them, £200 a set if you provide the steelies & postage is covered

What i'm trying to say is it's all well and good "knowing a guy" but you won't know the quality of the work until you see the wheels spinning on a hub. Xav's looked amazing.. until he put them on a balancer
