How dare you have an opinion piggy. This is 306oc........

However I do quite like the white myself. Each to there own and all that

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 16-02-2016

the reason i had them done white is they will be easier to sell than any other colour once im done with them Wink

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Toms306 - 16-02-2016

And black looks shite...

Silver is standard...

Anth is nice for the road but a bit boring for track...

You're only left with white lol...

I don't think that pic does them justice though tbh, I like those in white but something looks a bit weird on the pic, too sunny maybe lol.

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 16-02-2016

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 18-02-2016

Mintex M1155 front pads turned up so I have fitted them with new disc's
by hell are they better than the std pads even newly fitted they grab well enough to throw the ABS on

gave the car a wash then started to load it for my track day on Saturday Smile
Ive managed to borrow a gopro so prepair to point and laugh!

I do hope its not wet!

Where you off to ?

You look well prepared,a pump and presume gauge is what I usually turn up to combe with lol

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Toms306 - 18-02-2016

With all that weight you'll use more fuel on the way down than on track Tongue

a Friend and I are doing Combe full open pit track day

I have also booked 2 sessions of track tuition one for the morning and one for the afternoon

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 20-02-2016

Alarm clock went off 5am this morning
didn't sleep much as i was like a little kid waiting for Christmas!

met my friend with his scooby at the local shell station at 6:10 where i fueled up,,
full tank of V power and two 20ltr jerrys, £110, fingers crossed that was going to be enough,
so we hit the M5 and headed north then onto the m4 and followed the signs to castle combe

we arrived at combe just at 7:30 for signing on to start,
we went in and filled out the paperwork and where i found out the times of my tuition
9:30 and 1:30

9:30 was the first open session so nothing like being thrown in at the deep end without watching others first

had to make a choice now tyres..............

I choose my wets as track was wet looked very slippery and more rain was forecast
anyway so what if i made the wrong choice i had all day there Wink

so before fitting my rainsport3's we drove over to noise testing passed that at 89dB

made out way back and started changing the wheels over

8:30 came someone started ringing a bell like old skool playtime over, it was the drivers briefing
anyway flags overtaking the new tarmac the old tarmac and general pointers all round
was a good briefing better than the Action day and FCS ones

that over went back and finished changing the wheels tourqued the bolts and checked fluids
now the car was ready

9:00 sighting lap. no helmets following the lead car basicly showing you the track.

time for brekfast
Nice fry up ok then nom nom didnt finish it as was getting nurvious Blush

9:30 came i went to meet Tim the instructor Nice chap! only to happy to help point and laugh

sat in the car chatted asked what id want out of the 20min session asked my experience then told to go on track drive a couple of laps

which i did...................

BY f*ck was it wet with water crossing the track

Tim started pointing out the braking points ,turn in points, best lines, and where to expect water
the guy was good!
we were soon setting some good speed and the tyres were magic
I couldn't believe anything could grip in so much water
we were even overtaking stuff a lot of stuff
20mins soon came to an end,
quick check of the gauges everything normal Excellent!
extra lap for cool down then in

Tim was very complimentry
and I felt great!

more to come..................................................

unless you have other ones, yeah Big Grin

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 21-02-2016

once we we back into the paddock i looked over the car everything looked grand
checked the wheel bolts
loaded the wife in and off we went again!

it was still raining, the track was still very wet, and we were still very fast compared to everything else,
after a few good overtakes i made a mistake at camp

classic lift off over steer and by hell did it turn quick
recovered it started off again only to have the session red flagged because of debris off of a cateram shedding its skin

so slow drive back and Tim was waiting at the pit wall waving his finger
wound down the window he said car was unsettled need to brake an slow the car before the turn in

ive never liked that corner 3 times now ive turned the car round there!

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Piggy - 21-02-2016

Yeah...been there in the wet and it leg go...scarey moments

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Toms306 - 21-02-2016

You held it well tbf, I've done that on a B road in a 306 and ended up with a terrifying tank slapper lol. Confused

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - zx_volcane - 21-02-2016

sounds like a great day despite the weather, would love to have some instruction on track must have been pretty useful

instruction was brilliant and for £30 for 2x20mins in my own car was well worth it i would recommend it

ET measures +15 i think Welshpug they did come off a gti6 when i bought them Wink

and another run from later in the day playing with a new cooper mini

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Dum-Dum - 21-02-2016

Looks like hooking up with the white line as well as still letting the clutch out into the lower gear (so rear unweighted) did you there. I wonder if it would have gone without the white lines?

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 21-02-2016

as you can tell by the videos the weather didnt let off with the rain or the bitterly cold wind
the tyre choice was good
i could turn in and power on sooner than nearly everything there
and by dinner time i had used a full tank of fuel Big Grin

an hour for lunch track was closed
chicken curry was lush!

1:30 when to find Tim again for my last tuition
first out on track from an hour break there were No dry lines it was all fresh un broken water
i think Tim had been watchin in the morning as he had a different approach in this session,
he was calling the down shifts and calling the braking point later into the corners encouraging me turn in harder which in-turn made me push faster and harder

at this point i realise that the Mintex pads ive fitted ive been only just using
you can really stand on these pads and they get better and better
i was beginning to use the brakes more and take some of the strain away from the down shift
i was beginning to trigger the ABS as i was braking setting up for the corners
I do believe Tim was enjoying himself

this 20 min session was a good fast session with a clear track
the tyres and brakes were working good

the rest of the afternoon was very much the same with good speeds and good laps,
all through the day i had people coming up and commenting on the car and the speed
which sper'd me on i think
the wife enjoyed the passenger laps but didn't like the rain or cold
she had enough by the middle of the afternoon so i had a few sessions to my self where i could push the limits a bit
needles to say all that happen was i cam up to traffic that wouldn't let me past
i pushed them for a while till the fuel light came on to which, i let off cooled the car off and called it a day,
as i saved 20ltrs in a can to get me home Smile

i didn't bother changing the track tyres back for the trip home as they had enough tread to be legal
and i didn't want to get soaked changing them as it was still bitterly cold and raining

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - hovis16 - 21-02-2016

Good right up mate. I run mintex 1155's and it amazine how the harder you brake the better the pads feel, I remember when I went to brands years ago i wasnt braking till the 150 mark. Scary but fun ☺

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 21-02-2016

just been going through some of the video I took and have found my fasted lap of the day
I am very pleased with this from a car I have built in my shed Smile

this lap was my third from last and came in at 1:33 on a very wet track

my last four flying laps were all within 3 seconds

my Fastest lap of the day

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 21-02-2016

Last video for tonight the 4 back to back fast laps last part of the day
spot a mistake?

RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Dum-Dum - 21-02-2016
