RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 03-12-2013 im so F*****G annoyed right now ive had to walk away from the car!! remember the nice white painted arches! one coat of stonechip later All the feckin paint peals off back to bare metal dont know whats in that stuff but its better than any paintstripper i know so now ive got a big mess to clean up and start again! dont put stone chip onto Halfords spray paints of Hammerite RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Dum-Dum - 03-12-2013 Shit thats bad news mate, suppose they all say test on a small inconspicuous area first for a reason though. I can only imagine how angry you are right now. Think they do white waxoyl though...... RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 03-12-2013 that was white stone chip and it went on so nice will be spraying it on again in a bit onto the bare metal funny thing is it didnt react with the kurust thats still good RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 03-12-2013 Take two! thats it for tonight Beer Time RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Grant - 03-12-2013 Looks smart dude, get some pics up with all the paper off etc. Will look pretty epic under there! RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 03-12-2013 shame most of it will be covered with arch liners RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Grant - 03-12-2013 Tis true. f*ck 'em off, you're all sealed now RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Niall - 03-12-2013 (03-12-2013, 07:29 PM)Grant Wrote: Tis true. f*ck 'em off, you're all sealed now Yeah but they then won't stop crap building up in certain areas. RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Grant - 03-12-2013 Corse they won't if they're not there. But by the power of science when enough crap builds up its own weight will pull it back off. Foolproof. RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 03-12-2013 the liners will be going back in to cover up the crap paint job RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Dum-Dum - 03-12-2013 Arch liners are for girls whose cars arent low enough RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 03-12-2013 a low car is not necessary a good car RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Grant - 03-12-2013 I've heard that if BMW's are too low, they come off the road RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 19-12-2013 thanks to chris i now have a lightened flywheel and the guy i bought the pulley/pas bracket from has come through and posted me a second set of Pulleys and PAS relocation bracket after the first set got lost in the post but now i have a decision to make! i want to fit the fly and pulley to the spare engine im building, so i may strip this again and send the crank /fly/pulley off to be ballanced together the PAS relocation bracket can be fitted to the new engine later so for now its going on the engine in the car so i can sack off the Aircon pump and pipework shinies we all love shinies RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Grant - 19-12-2013 Love it! RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Dum-Dum - 19-12-2013 Ooh shiny. Dont forget to get your clutch ballanced with the rest of the bottom end. RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - jammapic - 19-12-2013 Looking good mate. Personally, I would balance it. 7000 - 8000rpm is a fair amount of revs if things are out of balance, worth doing IMO. One thing to note though, don't go too light on the whole rotating assembly. I did, and had the world of problems snapping oil pump chains and having weird misfires (ecu struggling to calculate crank acceleration / lag times). JP RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - lewisdmz - 19-12-2013 Looking good, should be a decent gain from fitting all those lightened goodies. Will this be on the road by the summer? RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 19-12-2013 the car will be on the road but as yet i dont know with which engine std engine with aircon removed or rebuilt lightened engine RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 21-12-2013 hmmm! Thats not suppose to fit there ! but it does! the main reason for doing this it to sack off the AC pump and a side effect is to easily get to the oil filter from below for servicing belt used is a 6PK1103 maybe a slightly longer one would be better as the tensioner is tight RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 21-12-2013 something was bugging me! the fact the PAS pump didn't look square not good enough for me so been back out and removed it and have work out there is play on the inner mounts these are pressed into the sump look like split tubes so i have pressed these out and inserted a set of top hat inserts like the set on the outer mounts these have taken away all the play and now i can see how the mount is suppose to work! the mount against the pulley is fixed and the mount on the back floats along the bolt shafts then the pump then bolts to the mount simple! so you need an extra pair of the top hat inserts if fitting this kit which is not included Peugeot part number 6453 AR I'm all happy now its looks a lot squarer to the belt and other pulleys Thanks goes to Carl at CG cars Leicester (mechanicalrepairs from the GTi6 forum) for my latest batch of shiny parts RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Dum-Dum - 21-12-2013 Looking good mate, how much was the relocation kit? RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 21-12-2013 (21-12-2013, 04:37 PM)Dum-Dum Wrote: Looking good mate, how much was the relocation kit? PAS bracket bolts an alloy crank pulley delivered were £110 6pk1103 belt and these extra tophat spacers would be extra RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Piggy - 21-12-2013 ouch. look good on the new shiney engine though defo needs to be 100% square as I found doing exactly 70mph in the 3rd lane of the m5 once when my belt said byebye RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - cully - 24-12-2013 its stopped raining so started putting the front end back together nice newly painted front panel fitted. when i refitted all the engine main plugs on the chassis leg each was checked cleened and greased up to stop water getting in all or the bolts are being put back in with copper grease so they should come out again when needed nice white under arch paint before the liners are refitted nice newish Nissan rad bled using the pop bottle method thats an easy method and as a bonus my fans work too RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Grant - 24-12-2013 Lookin great mate! Love the attention to detail. A question if I may. Why not fit EPAS? Same end result, and at a guess, a cheaper cost? Same end result, and at a guess, a cheaper cost? why not!.......cause i didnt want to go through all the hastle of locating routeing wiring and fitting Saxo bits eeeew! probably cost me £60 to drop the PAS pump incl belt and that future proofs the engine if i ever want to bodie it or SC/turbo you never know what father christmas might bring RE: Cully's Bianca 6 R150 YVM - Grant - 24-12-2013 Fair enough. Thought the relocation brackets were more for some reason. I got my EPAS pump from a 106 and including a belt it has cost me £35 |
