Looking at a clio tomorrow - kentiiboii - 17-04-2013 So as you all know mrs passed her test and were looking for a car for her. Shes found a lovely looking clio on gumtree near us. 1 owner from new 45k miles 13 months mot and it had tax. Was advertised 8 days ago but they still have it. Price is currently £1095ovno. I know theyll but on the price even more so it hasnt been sold in 8 days. I know nothing about renault. So if you could tell me what the engines are like and whats the body like for rot and things that would be great. Thanks in advanced RE: Looking at a clio tomorrow - Tom - 17-04-2013 Old owner or young owner? Should have a good history with it being only one owner! Sounds like a better car than she was looking at before lol! Looking at a clio tomorrow - Jake - 17-04-2013 Great fun to drive tbh.. Just watch out for head gaskets on the smaller engined ones! What year is it? Sounds like a good buy with the mileage though! Re: Looking at a clio tomorrow - WiNgNuTz - 18-04-2013 Shame it's french though......oh wait. ![]() Re: Looking at a clio tomorrow - kentiiboii - 18-04-2013 Well been looking at corsa 1.2 which arnt so bad a engine. Im positive its a lady owner sounds old if its 1 owner. 52 plate as well. Just wondered if theres abything other than the usual. Every 106 I seen has head gasket failure. RE: Looking at a clio tomorrow - Piggy - 18-04-2013 1.2 engines are ok only if looked after....personally the 1.2 is a gutless fricking waste of metal that does pathetic mpgs....but there cheap to insure! immobiliser issues on early ones can make a car scrap and check rear lights for earthing issues....if you think 306s can be bad...Renaults take the biscuit. easy to fix...but you dont need to tell the seller that ![]() electrics also, so try everything to ensure it works normally ok on rust...if anywhere check chassis rails just behind from sub frame so what engine and what year?! personally.....I wouldnt....but Micra 1.0 16vs are bullet proof, cute for a lass and fun to drive RE: Looking at a clio tomorrow - 1616six - 18-04-2013 Sunroofs leak like mad.. RE: Looking at a clio tomorrow - Chris1357 - 18-04-2013 These are prone for engine loom issues theres a metal bracket behind the head that cuts into the loom, Give a good shake while the engine is running to see if it runs crap. RE: Looking at a clio tomorrow - Hdiestate - 18-04-2013 Mate i sell a few clios check sunroof headgasket And the bsi check it isnt clicking after starting Its under the pass footwell by the bonnet relese. And the last thing is the coil.
