1989 White 205 1.9 GTI, Low mileage SOLD - Bengley - 13-04-2013
Here I present you my unfinished project.
I bought this car earlier this year but have run out of money to do anything to return it to completely original condition.
When I bought it, it had a horrendously offensive spoiler on the back, which after being removed unfortunately revealed damaged paintwork and surface rust. This has been temporarily hammerited over. I replaced the rusty bootlid with something more presentable and removed the towbar.
The interior is in very good condition and the car drives perfectly. The clocks show the car has only 85,500 miles, but I was told by the previous owner that the clocks were replaced as they were broken and he could only find higher mileage clocks, thus the car only truly has done about 50,000 miles. (MOT certificates to prove)
It has colour coded bumpers, which have slightly peeled in a couple of places but can either be repaired or replaced with original black bumpers which will be included in the sale. I will also throw in two brand new Michelin tyres.
The car has a sunroof which is in perfect working order and does not leak.
No tax, but MOT until July.

This car is a lot of fun to drive, it's mechanically standard and will very soon become a true classic. I would love to keep it, but have nowhere to put it and cannot afford it.

Not sure i like the skirts or painted trim.
You can remove the mile counter from the old clocks and replace the new ones. My dimma has done 56k and the seats look more worn than yours so the 50 k miles on yours looks to be correct

I don't really like the skirts or trim tbh, I was gonna return it to standard but I haven't got the money or space to do it, I've been told I need to get rid of two of my three cars

Now desparately need to sell this car and am willing to drop the price to well below what I was originally asking, will consider any reasonable offers, ask and you may be surprised that I will accept.
The only thing which has changed since this thread was posted is the dial surround. The dial surround is broken and the instrument panel stopped working properly so will need new dial surround, instrument panel and speedo cable.
Don't be scared to offer, I want rid of this car as it's now parked 100 miles from home (I moved house) and I can't keep an eye on it.

I dunno man, I need the money at the moment and swapping for another car isn't gonna help me on that front, plus I just had my license revoked so I'm not going to be able to drive it anywhere anytime soon
