306 brakes on a 106 - Piggy - 10-04-2013 not getting any answers on 106oc... the fact sheet on 106oc shows that 247mm vented discs and calipers (106gti etc) fit under 13" steels. I have some really good 247mm discs and pads and calipers off the cossack I was going to fit to the 106nad... but they dont seem to fit at all...as in they will go on but the 13" is no way going on... any thoughts?! i assumed the calipers would be the same?! RE: 306 brakes on a 106 - Matt - 10-04-2013 I know Samass has xsi brakes on his, but think that's under 14" steels RE: 306 brakes on a 106 - Niall - 10-04-2013 I think they only put the 247s under 14" wheels mate. I know mine were smaller than that on my 106 and the wheel was filled but that was 13" 3 stud lol RE: 306 brakes on a 106 - Chris_90 - 10-04-2013 says on here that the 247 should fit under 13's unless the 247's are different between the 106/306 http://106owners.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?130394-Brake-Upgrade-Bleeding-Information-Thread Just get some 15's on it and put 283mm on there you will need that extra stopping power when you xud it RE: 306 brakes on a 106 - Piggy - 10-04-2013 the standard disc size on pov 106s is 247mm...the upgrade is the vented disc and larger caliper. 283mm is good enough to stop any upgraded gti6... bit silly for a car 250kg+ lighter! the 1.9 is only 15kg heavier than a 1.5 (10-04-2013, 07:56 AM)Chris_90 Wrote: says on here that the 247 should fit under 13's unless the 247's are different between the 106/306 exactly what I read Re: 306 brakes on a 106 - kentiiboii - 10-04-2013 I'll sell you know at of swollowes cheap RE: 306 brakes on a 106 - silverzx - 10-04-2013 Everyone on 205 forum raves about the standard 205 GTI 1.9 247 calipers being the business with decent pads. Might be worth a look? Fit under 14's. RE: 306 brakes on a 106 - Piggy - 12-04-2013 must be these particular steels....grrrrr RE: 306 brakes on a 106 - samass - 12-04-2013 Space em out OR, I have the old 13" steels off the nad if you want, all with good tyres. I give you good price. RE: 306 brakes on a 106 - Piggy - 12-04-2013 nah seriously, spaced out would be an understatement...I tried the 13" steels on the 306 with the 247s and they just touched, so I got some cheap 5mm spacers.... fitted it all up the 106 and I would need like 20/25mm hubcentrics!!! could you take a pic of the 13s...so I can see if they look diff?! RE: 306 brakes on a 106 - samass - 12-04-2013 Yeah sure, ill get one as soon as I can. Inside and out? RE: 306 brakes on a 106 - Piggy - 12-04-2013 yeah, just curiosity killing me now |
