Oil cooler - Niall - 29-03-2013

Im considering getting a oil cooler before summer this year as i did have a few temperature issues last year when giving it some and dont really want these issues on track this year.
Would there be any reason why i couldnt put a 13 row cooler behind the radiator or is there not enough air flow there for it to do its job properly?

RE: Oil cooler - Pompey306mark - 29-03-2013

Mine is say onto of my intercooler, infront of the rad, but behind the grill.

Gets enough air flow there to keep it behind 95-100 normally

Yeah should be plenty mate unless you really ra*e it.

RE: Oil cooler - swampy - 30-03-2013

Ill be doing these soon

Can do mocal coolers plus the lines but not the sandwich plate

Niall fit it as I did on the diablo, long ways vertical but in front of the rad. It worked perfectly for mine!

RE: Oil cooler - miles - 30-03-2013

Oil coolers in the ideal world should be in there own airflow, In real terms this doesn't happen that often so in front of the rad at worst.
Never buy a kit as the hose's are too short, I always mount the parts first and then measure the hose's, Again never use Hose clip or push fittings as they do and can come off, Crimped Braided is the safest option here.

Cooler wise you can get 13 row, but heavy or light duty, and different depth's make a huge difference on size

RE: Oil cooler - Ed Doe - 31-03-2013

Miles I found quite the reverse; my hoses were too long!!

RE: Oil cooler - miles - 31-03-2013

Your lucky, but as said most are the wrong length

RE: Oil cooler - 306GT30 - 04-04-2013

got mocal too.the hoses are looooooooooooooooooooong

RE: Oil cooler - Niall - 04-04-2013

Not too fussed about the hoses being too long. There is a hydraulic place just up the road so will get them to alter them if needs be.
