Got some new wheels. - kentiiboii - 26-03-2013

Been giving these cheap with 4 good Michelin tyres. Theyre from 307 so was jusy wondering if they need flat seat tapered or just flat seated bolts.

look in the holes and see!

RE: Got some new wheels. - 1616six - 26-03-2013

If it helps I know they bolt straight on as theres a 306 at work with them on, i'd imagine flat seated but as Nail says, just check the holes Smile

RE: Got some new wheels. - Toms306 - 26-03-2013

Not sure if they have been changed usual tyre size for 15s on 306 is 195/55 im guessing?

Not sure I think they could be. Ill find out

RE: Got some new wheels. - Toms306 - 26-03-2013

Yeah thats right, 195/55/15. The sidewalls look big in the pic but maybe its just the pic angle lol.

Re: Got some new wheels. - kentiiboii - 26-03-2013

Sams right after searching ebay theyre 207 wheels.

RE: Got some new wheels. - Toms306 - 26-03-2013

If thats the case they'll be 185/65/15.......which would explain the large sidewalls lol.

Re: Got some new wheels. - kentiiboii - 27-03-2013

So here they are...

Quick question what psi air should I be putting in seeing as theyre 185/65/15?

Think they look really nice shame about the baloons. They are like new but slight curbing on one

RE: Got some new wheels. - Oil-burner - 27-03-2013

Bout 36psi dude

RE: Got some new wheels. - Toms306 - 27-03-2013

^^^That.

Just watch the rears don't scrub though, should be alright as they're thinner but obviously they're a bit taller too.

RE: Got some new wheels. - Oil-burner - 27-03-2013

Haha should be alright with the tractor spec ride hight! Lol

Yeah theres plenty of clearence. The lad that had them on a 306 was lowered 60mm on front and didnt catch :/

Next question... what do people think to gmax shocks? They came of a 1.8 so will they be ok for a hdi.

RE: Got some new wheels. - Oil-burner - 27-03-2013

Shocks should be fine off a 1.8 im guessing.
My gmaxx springs are decent but no idea on the shocks.
What happened to puttin the coils on?

My dads got a set of gmaz shocks look fairly new with new springs not sure how low though.

RE: Got some new wheels. - Oil-burner - 27-03-2013

I wouldnt use the 1.8 springs personally but its up to you, dont know what the lump weighs vs the hdi

RE: Got some new wheels. - Niall - 27-03-2013

1.8 springs dont go well with anything other than 1.4,1.6 and 1.8. The 1.8 was the lightest of the XU range in the 306s by far so if you bung them on your car, it will drop slightly further and probably be quite horrible to drive. When i fitted my 1.8 springs to the gti, it handled like a sack of shit. ask ed Tongue

Re: Got some new wheels. - kentiiboii - 27-03-2013

I wasn't going to fit the springs just wondered about tge shocks I know the springs will be wrong Smile

RE: Got some new wheels. - Oil-burner - 27-03-2013

Shocks should be fine mate. Smile
