New Jaguar - Niall - 24-03-2013

Pics have been out for a while now but i only saw this just now on facebook and realised how nice it is!

I would bloody love one of these! Think jaguar were really behind the times with styling up until a few years back. Even the new XJ is porn!

RE: New Jaguar - Anton - 24-03-2013

Seen about 20 of these, look good. Not sure about the rear lights though.

RE: New Jaguar - ozonehostile - 24-03-2013

looks like an aston martin crashed into a nissan gtr

RE: New Jaguar - Tom - 24-03-2013

Thats nice. Soft top is a bit gay though? Is it not?

RE: New Jaguar - C.A.R. - 24-03-2013

Fecking gawjus! The coupe is set to look even better.

The pricing structure is a bit off though, by all accounts. Wasn't exactly on my shopping list for the near future anyway!

In all fairness though have you seen the specs for their new cars? Google the spec for the XJ Ultimate. It would be quicker for them to list what it doesnt have!

Which = WIN

RE: New Jaguar - C.A.R. - 24-03-2013

Yea but how does it spec up to the German rivals from BMW and Mercedes? I think this car is really pretty but it would be difficult to justify it over a faster, cheaper, higher-quality Porsche...

RE: New Jaguar - ozonehostile - 24-03-2013

yeah but only wrist excercisers drive a porche, any one whos cool would drive a jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag

Two things.
Firstly, your not a sheep like most people are by buying a german car (which mostly all look the same) and secondly, i wouldnt say a porche is higher quality, nor faster!

RE: New Jaguar - C.A.R. - 24-03-2013

I get that, I really do and I think that you have highlighted the kind of people who will buy the Jag, but it's not going to win any group tests.

In many respects its like an Aston Martin like that, never quite the same level of performance as its rivals.

The build quality on these modern Jags isn't wonderful either by all accounts, certainly not up to German standard. Although, I imagine they might rattle slightly less than a 12 year old Peugeot :p

Car thats not true at all with regards to build quality. Bearing in mind my old man used to bring brand new jags home often, they were very well built and ive been in a XF and i would say it was built substantially better than anything german ive been in.

And the other thing is your right. Some german cars are faster and might handle better but 90% of german cars look identical and pretty boring. Been in a aston martin? its a beautiful car and the interior is lovely! much better than anything german!

RE: New Jaguar - C.A.R. - 24-03-2013

It's true, the interior of the new M5 is very understated for what the car costs!

There are concerns over the build quality of the Jags though, I take it you've seen the XF's startup routine in the interior, when all the vents move? Also that control knob which rises up out of the center console. Both of which can and do fail. Then there's the rattling issues on the XJ, just things you don't really hear of on the Mercs and BMWs.

I have sat in only one Aston and that was an '09 DB9, and we didn't go anywhere! But it was a very nice place to be, but that doesn't speak for how well it's put together...

RE: New Jaguar - Niall - 24-03-2013

You do hear about these things with german cars and much worse. Like fire risk on merc CLKs when you do over 80 for more than 15 minutes? Or loss of brake assistance on all v8 and v10 bmws after 2006. Or maybe random exploding airbags in the Audi A8 after 2009? All cars have these issues, it just depends if you choose to listen to them and generally german car drivers are up their arses so much about the fact that their car was made in germany that they think these things cant possibly happen.

Funnily enough i have a site just up the road from there (assuming you mean the one with the spitfires on the roundabout outside?) that i have to go to every 3 months. Love driving past. Loads of nice cars lol
