Fibreglass bonnet, boot, wings etc - Piggy - 21-03-2013 Just searching for FG bits... found this http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=154213 he does ph1/ph3 bonnets, tailgates, door skins, roof skins...the lot seems reasonably priced too. Going to start saving...money...then weight! RE: Fibreglass bonnet, boot, wings etc - ozonehostile - 21-03-2013 Erm I wouldn't if I were you, tallguy_2 will back me up on this RE: Fibreglass bonnet, boot, wings etc - Ben - 21-03-2013 (21-03-2013, 05:14 PM)ozonehostile Wrote: Erm I wouldn't if I were you, tallguy_2 will back me up on this Do they flap about a lot? Could always add braces if thats the problem RE: Fibreglass bonnet, boot, wings etc - ozonehostile - 21-03-2013 They do yes, but its more a problem with those particular panels RE: Fibreglass bonnet, boot, wings etc - Piggy - 21-03-2013 the bonnet he is providing is having a central brace across it to avoid the flapping... in other threads the reports are good RE: Fibreglass bonnet, boot, wings etc - Shea - 26-03-2013 If made right the carbon fibre should not flap about, we make large pannels for juno race cars at uni and have a full carbon fibre hovercraft at uni and none of that flaps about RE: Fibreglass bonnet, boot, wings etc - Piggy - 26-03-2013 CF is much more rigid than FG though. although I hear good things about the panels this guy is making RE: Fibreglass bonnet, boot, wings etc - Matt - 26-03-2013 he is making his own ph3 bonnets, even had a bonnet donated to make the mould. these arnt cheap crappy moulds iirc RE: Fibreglass bonnet, boot, wings etc - Connor - 26-03-2013 Tbh if people are gonna go on about "I wouldn't touch **** with a barge pole" then they need to at least say why... Same as in that other thread about cg paddle clutches RE: Fibreglass bonnet, boot, wings etc - ozonehostile - 26-03-2013 When those phase 1 fiberglass panels first went into production about 6 months ago, the moulds were from a spaceframe 306, they would fit yes but the gaps would be very noticeable. I don't know if that's still the case, the reports for phase 3 bonnets are good but I havnt found anything about phase 1 panels yet. I'm the only one I know of currently with a fiberglass phase 1 bonnet RE: Fibreglass bonnet, boot, wings etc - Piggy - 26-03-2013 yeah these are done differently. cant wait to save up for some fg stuff! RE: Fibreglass bonnet, boot, wings etc - ozonehostile - 26-03-2013 Fiberglass ain't sleeper! If this stuff is good though I mayaswel get as much as I can, already got fiberglass panels added on my insurance RE: Fibreglass bonnet, boot, wings etc - Piggy - 26-03-2013 it is if painted the same colour....its perfect sleeper! |
