Well theyre not a direct replacement
Whether or not they will fit i dont think so but could be wrong

Why didnt you just get the forged ones off jammapic. Thought you were on the list?

Hope you are fluent in polish haha
If you can get them for a similar price you will be on a winner

Re: Con rod help - studturbo - 31-01-2012

if i can get them ill be well happy for that price Smile

Re: Con rod help - Jacko - 31-01-2012

Stu, If you can get them made for XUD's be sure to let me know? Smile

Re: Con rod help - Jacko - 31-01-2012

Just a thought, forged gti6 pistons, would these be the same size as XUD ones? Or are they alot different?

Re: Con rod help - studturbo - 31-01-2012

oh yes gti6 pistons would be nice and i will do pal at that price there a steal Smile

Re: Con rod help - Dan! - 31-01-2012

GTi6 pistons in an XUD  Sorry, but just no.... lol

Re: Con rod help - darrenjlobb - 31-01-2012

No petrol rods will fit as the wrist pins in the dervs are almost double the size...and obviously no you cant run perv 16v pistons in an IDI derv Tongue

Re: Con rod help - Jacko - 31-01-2012

In my above post, didn't mean pistons.. Was tired. I meant the forged rods.

Re: Con rod help - studturbo - 31-01-2012

Guess what people thay can make them all i have too do is send him the dimensions or send him a rod witch would be better ?

Re: Con rod help - Dan! - 31-01-2012

I'd send him a rod. I dont know what measuring equipment you have, but theirs is bound to be more accurate. That way they have no excuse if the rod is slightly to long, wrist pin slightly to small etc.

Re: Con rod help - darrenjlobb - 31-01-2012

heh, plus the mesurements you are talking about need to be mesured in 0.*** tolerances, so deffo let them sort it out!

Re: Con rod help - studturbo - 31-01-2012

Going too send them a rod so if thay make a mistake its there fault Smile

Re: Forged rods - Jacko - 31-01-2012

That's fantastic news!! Sort it fast Big Grin

Re: Forged rods - studturbo - 31-01-2012

Oh i will be need too get a con rod first too send him so be going scrapyard Smile

Forged rods - Matt - 31-01-2012

I'd be unsure of the company tbh, I would find somewhere closer to home. Poland is a long way to go if something goes wrong

Re: Forged rods - studturbo - 31-01-2012

There UK designed and manufactured in our UE factory conrods and am sure thay come with a warrenty

Re: Forged rods - Midnightclub - 31-01-2012

So has he guaranteed you the price of £325 for these new rods?

Re: Forged rods - studturbo - 31-01-2012

yes pal

Re: Forged rods - studturbo - 31-01-2012

Hes mailed me back and this is what the rods are made from
rods are forged from AISI 4340 (En24) steel.
Heat treated to HRC 35-38 and fully shot-peened.
small end is aluminium bronze

Re: Forged rods - Atterz - 31-01-2012

I can kind of understand wanting to take the risk on an XUD because if it all goes pete tong its not the end of the world (in regards to a new block etc). But are there any reviews on the internet of this company? If they are good quality ill shut up but if your throwing a lot of money in to an engine build wouldnt you want piece of mind with a proven product?

Re: Forged rods - studturbo - 31-01-2012

Well there on here http://www.stackltd.com/dists.html

Re: Forged rods - 4WayDiablo - 31-01-2012

studturbo Wrote:Well there on here http://www.stackltd.com/dists.html
i dont see them on that list
Also if they are then so what? stack sell GUAGES and other instruments and not CON RODS

Re: Forged rods - studturbo - 31-01-2012

thay called re5pect

Re: Forged rods - jammapic - 31-01-2012

I looked at those, and realised:

1) I'd never heard of the company
2) I'd have to pay import tax
3) They'd never made a diesel rod
4) They were in a totally different country, a long way from me

and when I added those all together an extra £95 didn't seem so bad... at least I know if I have problems they are only about 100m away from me!
