Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - Tom - 13-03-2013

How much psi's do you use? Also do you do them when warm or cold as possible?

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - sweeney1987 - 13-03-2013

cold as possile, usually around the 38-40psi mark, otherwise i find car feels boaty

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - Ricky - 13-03-2013

36 front, 34 back.

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - 1616six - 13-03-2013

38psi

235/35/19's

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - Tom - 13-03-2013

Didnt realise everyone puts so much in! Hopefully some more will comment and get more opinions! Smile

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - darrenjlobb - 13-03-2013

Depends what tyre you have...

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - Piggy - 13-03-2013

^^^^^this! huge differences!

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - silverzx - 13-03-2013

35PSI front, 34PSI rear - 195/50/15 (speedlines) on the 205 (might be 45's, can't remember).
36PSI front, 36PSI rear - 195/55/15 (cyclones) on the 306.

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - Tom - 13-03-2013

Im keen to know what everyone uses really, im sure it'll be of use to other members to know what certain people put in there tyres.

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - Ricky - 13-03-2013

Well I would use more than I do now if I was on 15's with floppy sidewalls, but i'm on 45 profile 16's which are extra load so are hard enough not to need a lot of pressure.

Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - RePT - 13-03-2013

I used to put 50psi on my clones. Lawl the car would float :o

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - Toms306 - 13-03-2013

On the 'clones, 36PSI all round. However, as the nearest tyre machine is 15 miles away I can never do the pressures properly cold. I do usually do it at sainsburys though, after shopping, so hopefully the tyres have cooled a bit by then!

Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - JamesG - 13-03-2013

I put 36 all round but have started doing 38 up front 36 at back ThumbsUp

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - Piggy - 13-03-2013

195/50/15s...

34psi all round

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - ginge191 - 13-03-2013

with the tyres on there now, my tyre fitter put in 32 all round..

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - sweeney1987 - 13-03-2013

^tyre fitters usually do that to be on the safe side tbh, if im filling someones tyres at work for them thats what i go too, you wont go wrong, tyre wont go down and you wont explode tyre.
Its all down to personal preference really, i feel putting about 40 in gives me much better feel when driving.

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - Piggy - 13-03-2013

40 is nuts...you'll wear the centres out in no time...must be rock hard too Undecided

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - Just Sean - 13-03-2013

35 fr 195/55/15
32 rear

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - Hdiestate - 13-03-2013

I do 32 all round. 195/50r/16

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - londondan86 - 14-03-2013

36 all round. 205/40/17

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - Jonny81191 - 14-03-2013

35 or so, as long as they're all the same and they're properly up to profile, you'll be OK. Might stick a bit more in and see how it feels.

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - Lew_Derv_T - 15-03-2013

i find it better to put high pressure in when going on motorways to reduce dragging the tyres, but i hover around average (33psi) on normal town so i dont feel everybump

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - Frosty - 15-03-2013

What pressure do people run challengers on?

Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - ash240970 - 15-03-2013

I'm on clones running 195 50 with Nexen all weather up front and prada spec 2s at the arse end and I usually put 32-34 depending if the tyres hot or cold.

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - MattDanPug - 21-03-2017

I've just brought a set of Gti-6 cyclones which have 195/50/15 tyres, as these aren't a standard Peugeot size, what tyre pressures would you put in? I was recommended to put in 32/33psi in. Whats best for day to day driving?

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - Magenta Sunset - 21-03-2017

I tend to run my HDi at about 35-40. (195/55R15) usually cos i have stuff in the boot.

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - Nexus - 22-03-2017

Similar to the previous posts, I stick in 36psi all round on Cyclones with 195/50R15 Pilot sport 3's.

Used to put in 38 when I first got the tyres but its mega uncomfortable on bumpy surrey roads.

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - Poodle - 28-03-2017

Depends what tyres you're using and model and engine combo. So a gti6 or hdi hatch on 195/50/15 should be 35f 33r iirc. Make it an estate and the rear pressure needs to be brought up to match the front. Put a load of weight in the back and you'll want the fronts up a couple of psi ans the rears up to 38-40.

Basically less body/engine weight needs less pressure and vice versa. Same goes for tyre profile, lower profile tyres will need a bit more pressure. So a gti6 on 17s will want to be running about 37f 35r. If the tyres are extra load rated (harder sidewalls) you want to knock off a couple of psi. Runflats go down a couple more psi again.

I personally run 80 profiles on 14"s on an estate at 32psi all round. This is all based on what i've seen at work with manufacturers specifying tyre pressures for all sorts of different vehicles.

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - Stef205 - 28-03-2017

Christ! 34psi+ is silly in a 306

32F 30R
in our 306 hdi 195/50/15

RE: Tyre pressures, What do you put in? - Poodle - 29-03-2017

I didn't remember correctly lol, hdi hatch should be 33 all round on 195/55/15 according to Autodata (who will have taken their data from Peugeot).
