Speedo not working, phase 1 - GP123 - 24-02-2013
Hi my speedo has stopped working. It always just sits at 60. But if im doing a long journey it would suddently start working? But whenever the car is turned off and you start it to drive off again it will go back to sitting at 60?!??
What is the problem here? Have the mot shortly and would like it fixed!
Where do i check? Is it a sensor?

Phase 1 is cable driven is it not? So can only be the cable, clocks, or vehicle speed sensor in the gearbox. Check it's all connected properly.

Phase 1 could be either cable driven or electric, if yours moves when you turn the car off I'd sway towards electric. As for whats wrong, not a clue, could either be the sensor in the gearbox or the clocks themselves
