Air con pump - MissTap_GTI6 - 24-02-2013 So Max has diagnosed the grinding sound coming from the auxiliaries is the air con pump, most likely the bearings and there's some play in it. The air con doesn't work, surprise surprise, so I need to know how I go about removing the air con pump... Can you just remove the bracket and get a rallye/1.8 set up? Re: Air con pump - kernow_joe - 24-02-2013 Yup just remove the pump and fit rally belt set up, not sure on the 1.8 that would be a cheaper option though, will see if any one else knows as I need to do the same to mine RE: Air con pump - Ed Doe - 24-02-2013 Pretty sure someone's selling a rallye aux set-up on the '6 forum atm ![]() RE: Air con pump - ginge191 - 24-02-2013 (24-02-2013, 03:09 PM)Ed Doe Wrote: Pretty sure someone's selling a rallye aux set-up on the '6 forum atm There was one for sale on here a while ago? Must've gone by now Air con pump - MissTap_GTI6 - 25-02-2013 Anyone have any other input? ![]() RE: Air con pump - miles - 25-02-2013 Must be a 2.0 one, it's not a rally thing which allot make out but any 2.0 iron block engine without A/C, mind I'd buy new as most S/H ones are well worn out now and paying £50.00 for them is silly as for another 45.00 you can have new RE: Air con pump - Frosty - 25-02-2013 This any good http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-306-GTi-6-AIR-CON-REMOVAL-KIT-RALLYE-AUX-BELT-AND-TENSIONERS-KIT-205-309-/290868381194?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3APeugeot%7CModel%3A306&hash=item43b91b460a RE: Air con pump - miles - 26-02-2013 Same as what I supply, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-205-GTi-6-306-Gti-6-Non-A-C-Pulley-Set-up-inc-Belt-/350644884167?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item51a41052c7 Air con pump - MissTap_GTI6 - 27-02-2013 Thanks guys. I'm going to have a think about this. I'm happy to buy another a/c pump tbh, even if the a/c doesn't work.. It hasn't ever done so I'm not missing much! The current one is fooked; grinding away and it's got a bit of play. Ain't nobody got time fo dat. RE: Air con pump - puglove - 27-02-2013 Dont lynx engineering sell the parts need for this conversion? Worth a try Air con pump - MissTap_GTI6 - 27-02-2013 Thanks Jamie. I can obtain the parts, I'm just not sure if I want to. This week I haven't been thinking very 'because race car'.... probably because of Gingies crash; it's kinda put things into perspective. Let's see what I choose next week after I've been paid... RE: Air con pump - Niall - 27-02-2013 I might have a air con compressor you can have. If I still have it, it's just taking up space in my shed With regards to the lynx kit, you might as well pay an engineer to carve the parts from a solid billet of ally with a tooth pick. Would probably be cheaper! Air con pump - MissTap_GTI6 - 27-02-2013 (27-02-2013, 11:50 AM)Niall Wrote: I might have a air con compressor you can have. Get and sack off the air con rubish. Carry on like this you will be buying a kia because the gti is to old amd rattly with no MPGeeees ![]() Air con pump - MissTap_GTI6 - 27-02-2013 How about a tower of rocks, Andy Goldsworthy style? RE: Air con pump - samass - 27-02-2013 Nope. RE: Air con pump - Niall - 27-02-2013 (27-02-2013, 12:35 PM)puglove Wrote: Dont let them talk you into retaining it. Get and sack off the air con rubish. Dude you need a f*cking mortgage just to buy a oil filter from Lynx. If your going to get rid of the compressor, your looking at about £100 for parts from a motor factors. RE: Air con pump - jammapic - 03-03-2013 Just take it off and fit standard, new 2.0 non ac parts. You can ditch the air con rad, pipes and feel better knowing you've saved about 5kg :-) the pump is a son of a bitch to get off though!! JP |
