Absoloutely gutted. - ginge191 - 23-02-2013

Long story short, driving home through a woodland know for deers (yeh you can guess what's coming) it is a national speed zone but i always drive through at 40mph maximum.

Saw one deer run out in front, brakes on, swerve, second deer, boom.
FML.

Along with the noise of the deer going under etc, i look in my mirror to see that behind me was a police car... he saw the whole thing, and said that by no way could i have done any more than i did. Lovely officer, helped me out and also the deer.

Anyway, result...

Straight after:

was allowed to be escorted back to Max's where i had been working on a dturbo all day, literally 5 miuntes round the corner, will attempt to sort something tomorrow.

A few more:

The first hit i've ever had, very shaken up as was misstap, just a war wound for the challenge car Sad

In the new forest?

RE: Absoloutely gutted. - Ed Doe - 23-02-2013

Sucks man, deers are f*cking scary when they run out in the road, its literally one of my worst nightmares particularly on the road I use to get to work...

Doesnt look too bad on the car front however, the actual chassis looks ok from those pics. Im sure someonell have a replacement bumper to donate to keep the challenge car alive!

RE: Absoloutely gutted. - ozonehostile - 23-02-2013

that properly sucks dude, least it didnt roll over the bonnet and into the screen, looks to be mainly plastic that was damaged though so just a new front end?

could have been alot worse

Nah thatll be on the road from south harting to lavant I reckon, if its 5 mins from maxs on the way to the a27.... assuming they were going back to brighton which given misstap was in the car was the likely destination lol

Edit I promise I dont actually stalk you guys Tongue

Ah ok. It's f*cking freaking when you hit wildlife.

I almost took at a dear in my car, but out braked him a manage to miss him.

Biggest thing I have hit was a badger in my old megane. Took out both passenger side doors, front wing and head light. Sad

As I said last night, it's probably not as bad as you think. Go and have a look today in the day light and see what you need. Sure you can bodge a few parts back together!

RE: Absoloutely gutted. - Marcus1991 - 24-02-2013

I hit a smallish deer at 60mph last year, I hit it that hard I felt the back end of the car come up! (or the front end going down alot)
