phase 2 headlights to phase 3 - tysonbully2k12 - 19-02-2013 just wondering is it just a straight swap, i have frosted phase 2 headlights and was going to get some phase 3 crystals, are they straight swap? same bulbs? and whats the best way to get the cover off to spray the mask black? thanks a million lads RE: phase 2 headlights to phase 3 - rocker8742 - 19-02-2013 Pretty much a straight swap but you'll need to swap the adjusters off of your ph2 onto the ph3 lights as they have a different plug on. should be the same bulbs (H7) and put them in the oven to split them RE: phase 2 headlights to phase 3 - JamesG - 19-02-2013 also swap the indicator stalk so that you have full beam on with dipped beam RE: phase 2 headlights to phase 3 - tysonbully2k12 - 19-02-2013 (19-02-2013, 11:19 PM)rocker8742 Wrote: Pretty much a straight swap but you'll need to swap the adjusters off of your ph2 onto the ph3 lights as they have a different plug on. think the ones i have in now are h4's are the adjusters easy to swap? also would they not melt in the oven? :S thanks (19-02-2013, 11:20 PM)JamesG Wrote: also swap the indicator stalk so that you have full beam on with dipped beam is that a easy job? thanks RE: phase 2 headlights to phase 3 - JamesG - 19-02-2013 (19-02-2013, 11:26 PM)tysonbully2k12 Wrote:(19-02-2013, 11:20 PM)JamesG Wrote: also swap the indicator stalk so that you have full beam on with dipped beam yes just 3 torx screws in the surround behind the steerting wheel then 2 torx screws hold the stalk in simply undo them and replace the stalk i have one for sale if you need one really easy RE: phase 2 headlights to phase 3 - rocker8742 - 19-02-2013 The adjusters just untwist easily as for the stalk unscrew the 3 screws on the steering column (Torx T20) then 2 T15s i think hold the stalk on RE: phase 2 headlights to phase 3 - Willo - 19-02-2013 How do the electric beam adjusters come off the lights ? RE: phase 2 headlights to phase 3 - JamesG - 19-02-2013 adjusters are easy to take off but sometimes can be a right PITA to put back in RE: phase 2 headlights to phase 3 - rocker8742 - 19-02-2013 guide for doing the masks http://306oc.co.uk/forum/thread-6937-page-2.html RE: phase 2 headlights to phase 3 - JamesG - 19-02-2013 (19-02-2013, 11:38 PM)Willo Wrote: How do the electric beam adjusters come off the lights ? you just twist them and then they come off RE: phase 2 headlights to phase 3 - Willo - 19-02-2013 There's my answer musts been typed as I was typing lol which way do you twist RE: phase 2 headlights to phase 3 - rocker8742 - 19-02-2013 (19-02-2013, 11:38 PM)Willo Wrote: How do the electric beam adjusters come off the lights ? They twist about 45 degrees then pull out of the reflector in the light as long as your careful its not too bad RE: phase 2 headlights to phase 3 - JamesG - 19-02-2013 It'll only go one way so try both ways lol as i can't remember RE: phase 2 headlights to phase 3 - Willo - 19-02-2013 Ill look tommorow I got some crystals sat here waiting to go in RE: phase 2 headlights to phase 3 - gareth7 - 21-02-2013 IIRC it's anticlockwise to remove the electric adjusters. There's a plastic locating tab on the body of the headlight at the top of each adjuster, you need to gently lever these up so it'll turn back underneath the tab. When you refit them pull the reflector back and hold it firmly to re-engage the ball joint on the adjuster as you push the adjuster back in then twist it to lock it it place. |
