Bigger Turbo Advice - Conor_DTS - 19-02-2013

My turbo is ready to blow and im looking to upgrade to a bigger turbo. Currently there is a garret turbo in the car but im not sure what type (its a 1997 car). I dont mind doing a bit of work to make it fit but nothing serious. What type of turbo would use recommend?

1) GT15 for driveability no messing about with anything.
2) T2/K14 for bit more poke no messing about with anything.
3) T25/TD04 for more top end, T25 more or less straight fit, TD04 will require adapter plates and oil lines.
4) GT-V series if you fancy having epic spool and good low & mid range power with decent top end (turbo dependant).
5) Find a cheap turbo and make it fit!

If you're feeling brave, a GT20 variant is easy to fit if you get one with the triangular manifold flange, just drill a few holes and make an adapter for the exhaust. However they're not the most reliable ninja Epic spool though, with 20psi coming just after 2krpm even on the WG versions like mine.

For bulletproof reliability and big top end power though the TD04-13 variants are the ones to go for
