Cheers man, spolier is from a classic impreza wrx wagon.

Really should consider the legality of these things before buying parts, thankfully common sense prevailed last night and i'm going to speak to a few people about the "smoke stack".

Meanwhile i'm considering shooting out to get a 30-70 time. Hmm. Don't want to kill a turbo, but don't want to never find out...

Not much point having the turbo in if its not gonna be used.. On the other hand it's not much use having it in if you kill it

RE: The Meatwagon - cwspellowe - 03-04-2013

Exactly, especially after it spectacularly died last time I did a 3rd gear pull. Saying that, it was over 30psi when it blew, the wastegate is holding it at a steady 24psi at the mo.

Might just go for it lmao

If it breaks i'll throw a T2 on again for a few months

RE: The Meatwagon - Slam Wagon - 03-04-2013

Youve got to find out.

Alot of the scene kids just clamp their upsweep exhausts on for shows, starting to see quite a few euro cars with little upsweeps on them and the bigger ones as said just clamp them on.

RE: The Meatwagon - ashkid - 03-04-2013

how hard was what to fit?! Confused

RE: The Meatwagon - Dum-Dum - 04-04-2013

CHRIS!

What you want to make a heat shield is a couple of old washing machine drums, some U brackets and jubilee large clips. Its one of the cheap bodges they use on locosts and they are stainless so wont rust.

This is brilliant! Love it!

Edit: where can i find a set of those bolt on arches? They fit perfect!

RE: The Meatwagon - ezb - 04-04-2013

if you do an upright exhaust, put one of those funny flaps American trucks have

I think that was kinda the idea. Doh

Looking good as ever Chris, love the idea of a smoke stack, i can't see why there'd be much of a problem regarding legality, but always best to check! Wink

Not sure if the snorkel would be a bit much (if that term can be applied to a project like this? lol ), but i still love where this is going. Can't wait to see it in person! Big Grin

RE: The Meatwagon - 306GT30 - 07-04-2013

insane!!!!!!!! love it!

RE: The Meatwagon - cwspellowe - 07-04-2013

Snorkel would be sweet but no idea how to connect it to the turbo, it's awfully cramped around the master cylinder. I shall find a way though.

Same with the smoke stack. Was going to fit a cherry bomb to the end of it but i've decided a 90degree elbow and 1m of 2.5" pipe should suffice. Bodged lmao

Started work on my metal centre dash today too. Slow going with the dremel but got some decent carbide cutting discs that are making relatively light work of the steel. Got my hazard switch mounted, need to do the rear fog switch and 12v accessory socket yet, and i've started cutting out gauge pods etc. Got the next 8 days off work though and funds are tight so can batter into this a bit every day. Hopefully going to rivet it onto the dash like a bawse.

RE: The Meatwagon - cwspellowe - 07-04-2013

Pics can wait, i have a birthday for a 3 year old to organise just now

RE: The Meatwagon - cwspellowe - 13-04-2013

Right, time for a little update.

Me being me, I opened Gumtree today and the first thing I saw was a set of buckets from a classic Impreza. So i bought them for the princely sum of £30. Impulse buying ftw.

Have a few ninja plans for them, going to mil-spec them up a bit with some stencilling and such, and they bolt to the floor so just need some plates made up to adapt the runners to the 306 mounting points. They sit a bit high at the mo so going to be chopping the sliders a bit but width wise and height wise they're a pretty decent fit. Happy days, buckets on the cheap.

RE: The Meatwagon - cwspellowe - 14-04-2013

lol

They're covered in storage marks but they're cleaning up nice. Need to get some brackets made up to mount the seats though, more money unfortunately.

Seriously considering sacking off camping in favour of fitting them lmao

RE: The Meatwagon - Connor - 14-04-2013

Fit them at camping, Ill even consider helping you... Or I might just be a drunken twat and annoy you whilst you attempt to fit them

RE: The Meatwagon - cwspellowe - 14-04-2013

lol

I'm gonna need man tools though and last time I checked I couldnt plug a mangle grinder in in a field Sad

RE: The Meatwagon - Connor - 14-04-2013

Bring a genny... Or learn how to use a hacksaw

RE: The Meatwagon - Ruan - 14-04-2013

If someone going to camping doesn't have a angle grinder I'll shit a dick.

RE: The Meatwagon - Niall - 14-04-2013

RE: The Meatwagon - samass - 14-04-2013

RE: The Meatwagon - Jonny81191 - 14-04-2013

Can always come over to mine for a couple hours where there is a grinder, welder, drill, vice and various hammers of differing sizes.
