Just wondering where you got the nipples from for the hdi boost gauge.
Got the inlet elbow now so thought I could drill and tap it while its stood.
Cheers

Why you getting a boost gauge on a stage 1?
You are still stage 1ing it arent you?

RE: boost gauge nipple - gareth7 - 16-02-2013

Ebay mate, search for threaded barbed hose connector

RE: boost gauge nipple - Poodle - 16-02-2013

Or your local nuts and bolts supplier or marine stores or hose specialist, etc... support local business and all that jazz.

You jammy shit!
You're very lucky to get another with the same codes mate.
Let me know when you're ready and we'll get it chucked on

RE: boost gauge nipple - Poodle - 16-02-2013

It's good practice to run a boost gauge the moment you start tuning, just to be on the safe side.

I know that's what I thought! Well when I have a day free I got a list of stuff to sort so will let you know.

That's why I want a boost guage. For safe side. Plus I've never had chance to fit one Smile.

RE: boost gauge nipple - Oil-burner - 16-02-2013

The torque app on my phone reads boost pressure but not sure how accurate it is.
Think its reading about 14.7psi atm on stage 1.

boost gauge nipple - kentiiboii - 16-02-2013

I don't have android though. Smile

RE: boost gauge nipple - Poodle - 17-02-2013

Where does it read boost pressure from? Can you get a sensor for it or something?

RE: boost gauge nipple - Oil-burner - 17-02-2013

Ive no idea tbh I was shocked when it came up but it seems fairly accurate tbh

RE: boost gauge nipple - DeeTurbo - 17-02-2013

This is what I did to pick up boost pressure.

I used a push fit pneumatic fitting with an m6 thread on the EGR blanking plate.

What size do I need?

RE: boost gauge nipple - Eeyore - 17-02-2013

it depends on the size of the hole and what size tapping set youve got! i honestly wouldnt bother with one of the barb ones. Just get the one with bolts through and has a seal on both size! I bought a barb one and couldnt get a tapping set big enough so i bought one of these in the end!

Now that's a tidy install, like it. Been looking at pneumatic connections myself after being fascinated with the one's on the compressor loop at work, didn't think of applying it like this though, nifty.

Thanks and yeah that's where I got the idea from, we use a bit of pneumatics at work.

It makes connecting and disconnecting so much easier as there's no messing with hose clips.
