Depends on your budget mate. You can get these cheap £15 ebay kits and if your lucky, it will work and read codes.
Or, you can spend £85-£100 and get peugeot planet which is the Peugeot dealer kit. You can do everything the dealer can do with that and at least you know it will work!

RE: obd software - jay8086 - 13-02-2013

I tried the elm327 and found it next to useless as it won't do abs or airbag codes. Picked up a new Lexia3 and Peugeot Planet 2000 (PP2000) that came with a wealth of software for £80 posted off ebay not that long ago. Personally I wouldn't buy anything other than Peugeot Planet 2000 and a Lexia3.

because 306s arnt true obd2, these cheap elm readers will literally just read ecu codes if your lucky. PP is the way forwards.

Found lexia 3 and pp £70

Thats a good price! Is it a UK seller? Heard bad things about people buying these from foreign places.

Post up where you got it from mate, I need one!! (as many people will confirm given how much I moan about my car not being right...) Sad

Would this work in a 306 d turbo. It's a iobd2 £70 and can read and clear codes and give you live data of the car through a iOS or android smartphone

No because a DT doesnt have a ECU. You wont get anything from it at all!

Ok thanks for the reply. What would read it then

RE: obd software - Niall - 14-02-2013

On your car? Nothing lol.
Sorry might of made a mistake. It is a XUD isnt it and not a HDi Dturbo?

If you bought PP, you can still read all the airbag, locking, lighting etc.

Xud. I haven't bought anything yet. I was just seeing what I would need because that I was thinking of the smartphone one but forgot about it wouldn't work on the xud's so would be pointless to get one.

RE: obd software - Niall - 14-02-2013

If its a XUD, it wont read a single thing mate so completely pointless you buying Smile
All data in them images above is read from the engine ECU which a DT doesnt have!
