17 inch alloys on an estate - Willo - 06-02-2013

Right it's as the title however will I have major clearance issue on the rear and will they fit in general

RE: 17 inch alloys on an estate - Jonny81191 - 06-02-2013

Shouldn't be an issue, depends what offset and how low you want to go.

RE: 17 inch alloys on an estate - Willo - 06-02-2013

Back will prob stay standard with a 40 mm drop on the front am thinking of sticking with peugeot rims just don't know which ones

RE: 17 inch alloys on an estate - Willo - 06-02-2013

That's just sealed the deal for me I'm off to eBay lol

RE: 17 inch alloys on an estate - puglove - 06-02-2013

40mm you shouldnt have any issues atall

RE: 17 inch alloys on an estate - Willo - 06-02-2013

Now I just got to decide on some rims then

What tyre size should I be using

RE: 17 inch alloys on an estate - HDIkyle - 06-02-2013

Mostly 205/40 is best for 306 with minimal rear rubbing

Re: 17 inch alloys on an estate - Dan! - 06-02-2013

195 or 205 with 40 profiles

RE: 17 inch alloys on an estate - Dum-Dum - 06-02-2013

205/40 is best but 205/45 or even 215 will work

This is my HDi estate (now Jonnys) it had a 40mm drop at the front and standard rear

205 50 17s are pretty much exactly the same rolling radius as 195 55 15's you get standard on the clones/lazers etc

Here's mine, I'm running 15mm spacers all round but I would say 20mm is needed on the back really.

+1 on the 20mm rear spacers. Gonna try to swap 2 of my 15mms for a couple of 20s

If I get a chance later, I might grab a pic of your car from your project thread, and photoshop the Hockenheims on for you, so you can see what they look like. In tapafail at the moment. Wink

Glad you like it. I think it looks pretty good, just get it done now! lol

RE: 17 inch alloys on an estate - Willo - 10-02-2013

Mot first then I will be looking for a set of these and dropping the front 40mm

RE: 17 inch alloys on an estate - Birk - 10-02-2013

Looks toss, invest in colour coding with a better bumper and a cut n polish 1st I'd say, try getting wheels that are out of the ordinary.

RE: 17 inch alloys on an estate - Willo - 10-02-2013

Till it passes the mot I ain't spending nothing lol then it needs a good once over with some g3 or similar and I'm on the look out for a phase 3 bumper already got crystals to put back in them phase 2 lights am on loan because the crystals I put in got smashed and 2 helpful gents off here sorted me out with some new crystals then when weather is better I'm gonna smooth and vent the bonnet smooth tailgate and relocate the number plate and I need a new rear bumper then I want some 17's gonna lower the front need to try get that dent out the front wing or replace the front wing
