beam condition off car - rd070707 - 06-02-2013 Just need some advice, know nothing about beams. But how do i check if the bearings etc are good in a rear beam when its not on a car? RE: beam condition off car - Scott - 06-02-2013 It's a bit harder to see really, as without the weight of the car there won't be any camber. RE: beam condition off car - puglove - 06-02-2013 Pull the trailing arms of is pretty much the only, unless its uber f*cked then the trailing arm will have loads of play that you'll be able to feel RE: beam condition off car - rd070707 - 06-02-2013 See that's what I thought :/ don't want to buy another beam with dead bearings RE: beam condition off car - rd070707 - 07-02-2013 I've attached a pic of the axle. If anyone has any time to point out on the pic what parts I check would be great RE: beam condition off car - miles - 07-02-2013 Make sure where the trailing arm goes into the beam with the seal, It's the same gap all the way around, at least this generally gives a good idea that's it is OK or at least rebuild-able RE: beam condition off car - rd070707 - 07-02-2013 cheers mate i think i know what you mean. so there should be no movement in the trailing arms at all? RE: beam condition off car - miles - 08-02-2013 You'll be lucky to find any off the car as it all moves around too much RE: beam condition off car - Tom - 08-02-2013 Jump up and down on it, its its f*cked, you'll see stuff moving that shouldnt. Thats not a sure fire way though, if you need to know for sure take the trailing arms off. RE: beam condition off car - rd070707 - 08-02-2013 il give it a go cheers tom |
