Anyone know of any decent gloves that are waterproof/thermal for general labour around a farm?
For duties like lifting stuff, mucking out stables, and so on.
Also wouldn't mind a pair for specifically doing mechanics as I got girly hands and have more scars then I care to have on my hands. Danny will vouch for this lol!
I've had a little look on the web, nearest thing I can find suitable is motorbike gloves.

Gloves, f*cking Gloves! There's only 1 thing gloves should be worn for and that's by the bitch washing the pots!
We have Grips gloves at work which are rubber with fabric backs. I don't use them so can't comment but they look ok quite thick but I would guess if you are using them around water they will get wet. Maybe put some rubber gloves underneath. I find a coating of paint, oil or render keeps them warm

the top ones will keep your hands dry but are cold,you could wear these inside of them

I use the second ones down on that list, I dont find them cold tbh, the only problem is if you have to put your whole hand in something wet as the back isnt waterproof. However the problem with completely waterproof gloves is that your hands will sweat anyway.....bit of a compromise really. I use them for all sorts of things though, and as they're so cheap just get a new pair when they wear through.

I use the same style of gloves as have already been suggested by most other people in here. However, if you reckon motorbike gloves are the closest thing to what you're looking for, try some winter mountain biking gloves - they're built on the same principles, but designed for much more mobility.

At my work we have pairs of "Dirty Rigger" gloves - awesome for the work we do, probably wouldn't be much good for anywhere where there's water... But they're tough and you can feel what's going on at least...

Some decent suggestions, thanks.
He wants a reusable pair which makes me lean toward pair of snap on gloves (retail £50) but there probably not that suitable for mucking out stables and moving hay.
Hate shopping for birthday presents! :/
