Radiator Leak? help! - snooker147 - 25-01-2013

hi have 306 1.9d non turbo and have small leak from radiator as can see drips of coolant on driveway from beneath the radiator, have to top up every week or so but car nevers goes over 80 and heaters work great so can i use radweld or something else to stop leak as here that it can block heater matrix which is blasting out nice hot air at minute lol

put the car on stands and get underneath for a look. check all the rad hoses are pushed on tight and have no splits in them, if you dont find anything here check the rad itself for any damp bits or obvious damage to the fins

If its phase two the bottom pipe fitting can leak.

If it isn't just the o ring on the plastic push connector (bottom drivers side), I'd heartily recommend just dropping a new radiator in - they're relatively cheap and easy to do.

Better than a small leak suddenly turning into a catastrophic loss of coolant say on the motorway and a cooked engine.
