306 rear axel - mickysabs89 - 24-01-2013 my friend has a lowerd back axel for a 306 but it is on drums and mine is on disks would i be able to swap the disks and everything onto the drum axel and how hard would it be RE: 306 rear axel - ginge191 - 24-01-2013 you're better off changing the beams entirely; changing the parts over would be pointless. Changing a beam itself isn't necessarily tough if you know what you're doing. You'll encounter problems with the brake nipples more than anything. RE: 306 rear axel - samass - 25-01-2013 NIPPLES!!!!!!!!!!!! RE: 306 rear axel - ginge191 - 25-01-2013 /facedesk RE: 306 rear axel - samass - 25-01-2013 Ah, drunken posting FTW RE: 306 rear axel - puglove - 25-01-2013 What 306 is the drum beam from and what 306 are you putting it on. Also if you have no experience with peugeot beam i wouldnt recomend trying to pull things apart and swap them around. RE: 306 rear axel - Grant - 28-01-2013 They can be a PITA to do, but not too hard. Soak EVERYTHING with penetrant spray atleatst a day before you intend to work, and soak it repeatedly. I've never had to remove/fit a drum beam but i would have thought it would involve some swapping of brake lines to where the joins are on the 'car side'. Dont go taking beams apart, it may require a little more thinking, but swapping the entire beam will be easier. Not entirely sure why you would go from discs to drums. The handbrake is better, but depending on what beam you have, you could be losing some handling capabilities... |
