RE: Scott's Astor 6 - Scott - 08-10-2012 Pfft It's a little lower now that it's settled, so not quite so bad. I'm happy with the drop as it's not too low to be practical, plus I know they're good springs. Never know, I may end up with coilies in future I'll be sticking up a breaking thread later, but there's a sparco interior which you might be interesting in RE: Scott's Astor 6 - puglove - 08-10-2012 Sparco fecking sparco. Have you npt seen what i have in mine?? S16 ftw No in all honesty i heard nothing but really good things about those spring. But you know me i like things low on 50 profiles. But whilest we are on the topic of collies for the money id recomend AP collies all day long. They are reall good. Id say they are on par with gaz coils . RE: Scott's Astor 6 - Scott - 08-10-2012 Fair play! I've also got some leather reclining buckets on adjustable OMP bases which I bought to put in this, but I'm having second thoughts about now too...I've even had some brackets made up for those so they can be fitted with standard seatbelts and tensioners. I'll post up a guide/specs if anyone is that interested in dimensions and how to fit them. How much were the APs if you don't mind me asking? We've got a pretty good price for the Gaz ones already, but I just don't know if I could justify them. RE: Scott's Astor 6 - Curt - 08-10-2012 Man up and fit the seats you big gay. Love you really RE: Scott's Astor 6 - Dum-Dum - 08-10-2012 [ed doe] owwwwwww you should fit some bigger wheels and a tapping engine to this yah [/ed doe] Its looking really good mate, Im just a little jealous. I might have to come and have a look at this collection of seats you have, especially the sparcos. RE: Scott's Astor 6 - puglove - 08-10-2012 Dont listen to curt. Get some s16/ph1 gti comfortable as fook. I think RRP is £360. But i had custom ones made to suite a gti and got a bargin at £300. Could see if i could hook you up with same deal if you ever fancied it. I believe they were an APX shock. Will take you for a quock rip next te RE: Scott's Astor 6 - Curt - 08-10-2012 Yeah, if you can find some... for decent money... in good condition RE: Scott's Astor 6 - puglove - 08-10-2012 (08-10-2012, 07:27 PM)Curt Wrote: Yeah, if you can find some... for decent money... in good condition This is it curt. Because i got lucky just assume they are out there. Got s16s with no wear , in red for £60 RE: Scott's Astor 6 - Scott - 08-10-2012 Actually that's really not a bad price for coilovers, especially brand new ones. It's another 1/3rd more than that for Gaz GHAs! I'll see what money's like in a couple of months and get back to you I'll trial fit them anyway for a week or two and see how I go, I'm still waiting on one of the brackets to be made (my mate for some reason thought I only needed one, despite telling him there are two seats ) and I'm not putting just one bucket in and leaving the rest of the interior as that'll look tragic. Cheers Chris I think I need to drive it to meets more, as I seem to be at meets or at Curt's in Kim's 6 mostly! Oh and when I drove it home last night there were three GTi-6s lined up outside my house, and I was on the insurance of all 3, owner of 2 My neighbours must think I have some kind of weird 306-fetish! Oh also I forgot to say, since I've got a spare inlet manifold, and the brake callipers will be removed from the black 6 before going on this, I'll have time to paint them both to match. I was going to have a yellow and astor colour scheme, but I've seen it done a few times now so I'm going to go for something different RE: Scott's Astor 6 - Tom - 08-10-2012 Such a cool car, colour, wheels, everything! Love it! Getton and fit the seats RE: Scott's Astor 6 - Niall - 08-10-2012 looks shit and im going to ensure it taps when we do the HG just so it matches eds. RE: Scott's Astor 6 - Dum-Dum - 08-10-2012 Wait I thought Ed was trying to fix his tapping so it matched Scotts? RE: Scott's Astor 6 - Ed Doe - 09-10-2012 But mine still doesn't tap? and I'm an inch bigger where it counts too.... Which definitely means I win RE: Scott's Astor 6 - Dum-Dum - 09-10-2012 I thought anything bigger than 16s ruined 306 handling, thats what you used to bang on about all the time. And yours does tap, I can hear it from hear. This is actualy true. So scotts are an inch smaller where it counts. You see Ed its not the size that matters its what you can do with them that counts Also 17s are very 90s and chavy RE: Scott's Astor 6 - Niall - 09-10-2012 Sorry ed but it is a tapper. Just like Scott's will be when I'm done with it! RE: Scott's Astor 6 - Dum-Dum - 09-10-2012 Niall wants the only non tapping 6 on the forum. I might end my spare injectors off to be ultrasonically cleaned and see if that fixes my slight injector tap. RE: Scott's Astor 6 - Ed Doe - 09-10-2012 (09-10-2012, 09:38 AM)Dum-Dum Wrote: Niall wants the only non tapping 6 on the forum. and so it outs, the tapping Dum is hearing is in fact his own car! He's kidding himself it's the injectors already, but the extreme vibration of his tapping engine has thus far caused the front badge to fall off, and most of the interior to fall out. The weight-saving is just a front! RE: Scott's Astor 6 - Niall - 09-10-2012 (09-10-2012, 09:38 AM)Dum-Dum Wrote: Niall wants the only non tapping 6 on the forum. nope mine taps. they all do. Difference is eds is like a hammer drill on idle! LOL no I can hear yours tapping over mine. And its not like ive been hiding or denying it, i mentioned it in the second post of my project thread. RE: Scott's Astor 6 - puglove - 10-10-2012 I dont think so. Mine isnt even beded in yet. Runs schweet as a nut RE: Scott's Astor 6 - Scott - 14-10-2012 So we've just spent the weekend breaking Vaughan's 6, which now means I have a shiny set of brakes to put on the car...well maybe not so shiny, they were painted green, then the visible half was painted yellow so I currently have some multicoloured callipers! Those will be being stripped shortly and then resprayed, along with the inlet manifold. I've also just gone and bought a Lynx head gasket kit for the car as there is a suspect (i.e. probable) head gasket failure. I didn't pay the full price though, I just saw ont he 6 forum someone was selling the full MLS gasket kit with bolts and washers for half the price they sell for new, so thought it'd be rude not to buy it. I also need to fit my rear beam mounts to the car as I've had them now since Pugfest (fail!). Also the spare set of headlights are going to be sent off to that bloke up north with the funny accent (and much worse HG issues) to do some magic to and mask the lights. All in all not much actually done this weekend with my car directly, though stripping Vaughan's old 6 has helped me massively to get things underway Pics tomorrow when I give the car a wash before Ace! RE: Scott's Astor 6 - ben87 - 14-10-2012 nice to read some porgress instead of the thread being clogged up about a tappy 6 bay... keep it up scott but you want to buy a derv real soon RE: Scott's Astor 6 - Kimmie - 14-10-2012 (14-10-2012, 07:51 PM)Scott Wrote: that bloke up north with the funny accent (and much worse HG issues) RE: Scott's Astor 6 - Scott - 14-10-2012 (14-10-2012, 07:55 PM)ben87 Wrote: keep it up scott but you want to buy a derv real soonI don't suppose you'll soon be recommending yours then?
