RE: My track toy - Blandy - 19-03-2013 Screen would be around £250 self fitted. Have decided against it though and gone for a small kit car type heater instead for around £100 RE: My track toy - Blandy - 24-03-2013 Well ditched the heated screen idea due to costs and a few bad reports of elements burning out do have gone for a little lightweight heater instead ![]() RE: My track toy - Blandy - 24-03-2013 Few more shots from today ![]() ![]() Have now taken the seats, front half of the cage and dash out ready to fit new heater and also new fixed buckets when the arrive RE: My track toy - sam - 24-03-2013 Really smart dude you running cams? RE: My track toy - Blandy - 24-03-2013 No not yet anyhow next tuning step will be cams and pistons but thatll be a while yet as want to get it out on track and get everything else right before adding more power as im new to trackdays RE: My track toy - Blandy - 15-04-2013 Been a bit busy lately as decided to change the seats again due to them sitting to high for my liking and being a track car wanted some proper fixed buckets so ordered up some omp trs fixed seats and some weld in rails. Unfortunately the seats didn't to quite to plan as to get seat central It needs to be on the tunnel which was to high again so only option was to get chopping ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: My track toy - 306GT30 - 15-04-2013 Really nice car, but i cant stand cleaned badgeless grills where did you get the heater? RE: My track toy - Blandy - 15-04-2013 See I dnt like the standard grill just think the badge less cleans it up a bit plus my fibreglass bonnet was badge less and was cheap so kinda went with it lol The heater came from t7 design I googled kit car heaters and they came up as really popular good little unit really for £100 pretty powerful for its size RE: My track toy - Blandy - 16-04-2013 Just found a pic of the tunnel marked out before the chopping fair bit needed removing ![]() RE: My track toy - Blandy - 20-04-2013 Current progress well if you can call it progress ![]() RE: My track toy - 306GT30 - 20-04-2013 very nice mate!! RE: My track toy - Blandy - 21-04-2013 Thanks mate Bit more progress today don't like the way my old catches sat on the side of the boot lid so removed some of the boot skin, made up brackets on the car and fitted some aero catches to the boot ![]() RE: My track toy - Blandy - 29-04-2013 After fitting the catches I decided the boot lock looked out of place so decided to fill it in ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: My track toy - 306GT30 - 29-04-2013 Nice!!! RE: My track toy - Grant - 30-04-2013 Liking this! Got more pictures of the aero catch fitting to the boot? RE: My track toy - Blandy - 30-04-2013 I haven't I'm afraid i basically I had to cut some of the skin away from inside the boot for the catches to fit then I made some metal bars which are bolted to the car for the pins to attach to as there's no where to mount them other wise but at least now my boot is properly locked again RE: My track toy - Blandy - 05-05-2013 Small progress welded on my harness eyes to the sills and tunnel and it's now all one colour inside now still needs a fair bit more paint but getting there ![]() RE: My track toy - Tallguy_2 - 05-05-2013 When you cut the tunnel was that piece double skinned or were you looking at the floor? RE: My track toy - Blandy - 05-05-2013 It's double skinned I simply cut back to the skin that is there now the piece I removed was just hollow although didn't know that when I started cutting lol but definitely made it easier RE: My track toy - Blandy - 10-05-2013 Today's mod to my 2nd hand boot ![]() Least I've not got to mask up the glass for spraying RE: My track toy - Tallguy_2 - 10-05-2013 Ah okay, we thought that would be the case, managed to sink mine quite far back luckily anyway, top job though mate RE: My track toy - Blandy - 10-05-2013 If you can get away without doing it it'll save a lot of hassle as was a best part of a day all in with getting bars in the right place to gain around 1-2" but really needed the room as in standard location I only had around a inch tops between my helmet and the roof RE: My track toy - Blandy - 11-05-2013 Interior painting finished ![]() And kit car heater all plumbed in ![]() RE: My track toy - Tom - 12-05-2013 Liking the heater! ![]() ![]() RE: My track toy - Ash___ - 13-05-2013 looking lovely bro RE: My track toy - Blandy - 13-05-2013 Cheers guys. Yeah the heaters pretty good for its size plenty enough to keep windows clear etc. Alot lighter as well. Am currently awaiting new windows and a custom built rad to turn up. Hopefully get the rad this week so I can get it up and running at weekend RE: My track toy - scottbmxer - 14-05-2013 Looking good blandy! Will have to pop down with witney and see it sometime ![]() RE: My track toy - Blandy - 14-05-2013 Hopefully be able to bring it out soon when I get my rad RE: My track toy - Blandy - 18-05-2013 New custom rad turned up today so set about fitting it. My old rad was on way out so decided to try and get it shorter as the bodies were half in front of the rad with the long manifold set up so wanted to get as clear path for airflow as possible. Looked into a 205 rad set up but in the end decided to go for a custom build rad. ![]() ![]() Now needed to drop the center of the slam panel as no point having that sat in the way ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: My track toy - chrisrallye - 19-05-2013 Looking good mate |
