RE: Daves DERV project + pics - zx_volcane - 19-09-2012 Damn I need to sort my pump out and get it on, 4k is so yesterday :/ RE: Daves DERV project + pics - ash23 - 19-09-2012 This thing is flipping quick what's its hp in its current state then RE: Daves DERV project + pics - Dave - 20-09-2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dAmyQfYoVA&feature=g-upl Obviously needs more fuel as once its on puff its clean as a whistle but it was left how I drive it daily for a baseline. Well impressed with how the torque just monster climbs after 1,400 rpm. 168 hp / 242ftlb 24psi peak Definitely needs head flow work, winding up the boost would make more power, but it just heats everything to shit and boils over, it shouldnt be needed from that blower, happy with that result, gti6 power but a shit ton more torque. Will get it dyno'd again after heads been off and played with. Dont really know what the fucks going on just after 5k, I think its the govnor spring breaking free and then bouncing back again, probably shim it up abit more. On a side note my mate radiationbeta was there too.. he ran 124hp/197ftlb which I thought was very impressive for a reamed T2/9mm on top mount. RE: Daves DERV project + pics - Mattcheese31 - 20-09-2012 nice result for yours Dave, dunno about radiationbeta's, it's ok like but i've made 133.7bhp on a K14 on top mount . . RE: Daves DERV project + pics - Dave - 20-09-2012 Cheers Matt, I thought 124 was pretty good lol, I guess it must vary from dyno to dyno. Its 9mm with 1.6 bar. RE: Daves DERV project + pics - zx_volcane - 20-09-2012 Looking good, where was this done? I fancy getting the zx on the rollers... RE: Daves DERV project + pics - CJ_Derv - 20-09-2012 Louis123 made 127 on a lucas and K14 at pod this year when i tweaked it up a tad but cracking results there dave impressed with that torque im considering some head work on me spare youll have to put some piccies of what you do to it i did one on the blaze and noticed a diff but never got chance to dyno as got wrote off When you hitting full boost in the rev range? CJ RE: Daves DERV project + pics - Curt - 20-09-2012 Nice result there Dave, loving the time lapse video RE: Daves DERV project + pics - Dave - 20-09-2012 (20-09-2012, 11:41 AM)zx_volcane Wrote: Looking good, where was this done? RE: Daves DERV project + pics - Matty - 20-09-2012 Woah, ain't been here in a while. Any who, I love coal <3 Got covered in it... Its 9mm with 1.6 bar. yeah probs, it's a proper place we use round my end that maps cars, not a fairground ride style one lol . . . . . what's 1.6 bar? about 18psi or summit? mine's at 24psi . .i would like a bit more torque though, maybe time to lose the middle box . . RE: Daves DERV project + pics - Dave - 20-09-2012 Cheers Matty for the vid you ledge, sound does not do it justice (even though I think it sounded 100000x better with the T28 anyway!) Mr cheese 1.6 bar is like 23psi I think, bout what mine was running. RE: Daves DERV project + pics - Matty - 20-09-2012 Agreed, sound doesn't do it justice what so ever. T28 was awesome, but this by far, is so much better when you took me for a spin in it. T28 was so laggy, where from memory, this starts spooling well before 2k and peaked just under 2.4k at 25psi. Loved it. RE: Daves DERV project + pics - kernow_joe - 21-09-2012 so what turbo are you running now then dave? not a man sized one any more? nice result on the dyno whatever you're running! RE: Daves DERV project + pics - CJ_Derv - 21-09-2012 I think i need to fiddle with the LDA maybe get fuel coming in bit lower boost to get turbo going bit quiker maybe, i really need to look into puimp tuning in more detail lol ive just done a quick play with it and seems rapid but i no theres much more potential RE: Daves DERV project + pics - zx_volcane - 21-09-2012 (20-09-2012, 02:32 PM)Dave Wrote: Was at dynodaze in Hinckley, £30 for 2 runs, just turn up wednesday night. sounds good, prob give this a go in the next week or so RE: Daves DERV project + pics - Matty - 21-09-2012 (21-09-2012, 01:10 PM)zx_volcane Wrote:(20-09-2012, 02:32 PM)Dave Wrote: Was at dynodaze in Hinckley, £30 for 2 runs, just turn up wednesday night. RE: Daves DERV project + pics - Dave - 03-02-2013 Bout time I manned up and started pulling the block on the black chariot... back in the kennel where it belongs Not much of an update, but will try and get destructo pics up when I pull block/have a look inside at messy goodness. dave RE: Daves DERV project + pics - Jtrigga - 04-02-2013 Seen more pictures of it in your garage than on the road lol RE: Daves DERV project + pics - darrenjlobb - 04-02-2013 (04-02-2013, 08:22 PM)Jtrigga Wrote: Seen more pictures of it in your garage than on the road lol Thats the way it should be! RE: Daves DERV project + pics - darrenjlobb - 05-02-2013 I also love the tractor battery to one side, just waiting for abuse on leads wen engine goes back in lol standard derv head situation RE: Daves DERV project + pics - Dave - 13-02-2013 Just an update, drank some monster energy, manned up and stripped down the block to be sent off for some destructive testing! Suprisingly light when everything is out of them! Daves DERV- Blown XUD.jpg - Sambarker - 14-02-2013 Which rods were these? #pleasesaystock RE: Daves DERV- Blown XUD.jpg - zx_volcane - 14-02-2013 Did you drink the bottle of crisp n dry too? As cool as destruction photos are, hope you never have to see another hole in a block again. RE: Daves DERV- Blown XUD.jpg - Dave - 14-02-2013 Sam was a stock dhy motor, so enevitable with 35lb of boost ... The crisp and dry bottles I used to hold onto bolts really. Hopefully won't blow another block as you say, should be the last time I'm pissing about picking shards of metal off the floor. RE: Daves DERV- Blown XUD.jpg - strictly_perv - 14-02-2013 So what have you got planned for the next build? Forged rods and updated bolts? RE: Daves DERV- Blown XUD.jpg - Dave - 14-02-2013 Well I thought about just getting another stock block, fitting some hdi rods, and running it as a reliable 170hp daily, as I have the same 2052V turbo ruan had before - and have uprated headstuds too so there wouldnt be an issue with reliability then... but don't think I could take a step down on power now. RE: Daves DERV- Blown XUD.jpg - mr_fish - 14-02-2013 impressive destruction there! |
