RE: 2.2 Dimma Hdi - Jimmer021 - 08-08-2013

The car is getting there now, not sure if it's gonna be ready to get motd in time though, all depends how well I get on tomorrow.

First thing I sorted today was driveshafts, got a pair of 406 and used from the inner bearings back. Few pics to show the difference between my shafts and the 406 ones. The 406 shafts are slightly longer, have larger cvs and the shaft itself is thicker.

Got the charge cooler in, engine rad, charge cooler rad, oil cooler, slam panel on and headlights in. One headlight is wired up but I need to sort a side light holder for the other one as the headlights only had one and phase2/3 ones don't fit.

I have misplaced the water hose going from the expansion bottle to the stat housing so have to look for that or sort out a tempory hose.

Tomorrow is a case of getting the driveshafts in, and front brakes on, fill up all the fluids and put the bumper and trims on etc, hoping by tomorrow night I can have it ready for mot Saturday morning.

RE: 2.2 Dimma Hdi - zx_volcane - 11-08-2013

Noooo Sad

At least not too much of a job to change given its location

Any idea what caused it to go pop?

2.2 Dimma Hdi - devils_fuel - 11-08-2013

That's a shitter about the whistle maker, fingers crossed it gets sorted easily Smile

RE: 2.2 Dimma Hdi - Connor - 11-08-2013

Didnt you have that reconditioned? If so thats gotta be a warranty job?

RE: 2.2 Dimma Hdi - Dum-Dum - 12-08-2013

That sucks to eat a turbo so quick

RE: 2.2 Dimma Hdi - spike2002 - 12-08-2013

RE: 2.2 Dimma Hdi - Jimmer021 - 12-08-2013

RE: 2.2 Dimma Hdi - Mattcheese31 - 27-09-2013

how is it mate?...Smile

RE: 2.2 Dimma Hdi - Jimmer021 - 28-09-2013

I haven't driven it yet as I had work, but taking it out today.

I'm going to run it in first then I need to look at getting it setup, anyone have an idea what sort of boost pressure is gonna be good to run? I was thinking around 24psi?

RE: 2.2 Dimma Hdi - Dum-Dum - 28-09-2013

Depends what sort of power you want to make, you can make alot of power with not alot of boost with the right mapping.

RE: 2.2 Dimma Hdi - Jimmer021 - 29-09-2013

I want decent power, but at the same time don't want to be destroying turbos every 5 mins as it gets expensive lol

Would like about 220 which is what is supsodly was, I'm not convinced the vnt control is working correctly at the moment either

RE: 2.2 Dimma Hdi - padge - 29-09-2013

thought this was 245/400lbs?

RE: 2.2 Dimma Hdi - Jimmer021 - 29-09-2013

I have not seen any proof of what is was, just what people have said

RE: 2.2 Dimma Hdi - Piggy - 29-09-2013

shame about the turbo...but I suppose it pays to have it done with warranty!

would love to see this in the flesh Smile

RE: 2.2 Dimma Hdi - samsdad2011 - 29-09-2013

I work at euro Taunton if u need more bits too

RE: 2.2 Dimma Hdi - Jimmer021 - 29-09-2013

I have only had it back on the road since yesterday so that's probs why haha

Okay cool, we get quite a few bits from euro

RE: 2.2 Dimma Hdi - Poodle - 30-09-2013

The previous owner put a dyno graph up years ago iirc, 220 rings a bell.
