RE: Paul's estate mk2 - C2K - 04-07-2015

It's been lowered before. One bar came out with 4 taps on the slide hammer and had grease on the splines. Front one isn't playing ball at the moment. Smile

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Paul_13 - 04-07-2015

I'm not hitting any of it with a hammer. You wind the nut into the washer /socket and it pulls the bar out

Love the rallye blanks! That is a good looking front end!

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Poodle - 06-07-2015

Are you draining and cleaning the filter housing when you do these filter changes? If not we now know where all that crap on your fpr came from. Slide hammer is fine for removing torsion bars, it's when some tit lays in with a sledge that you get problems lol.

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Paul_13 - 06-07-2015

I've never bothered poodle, would explain that then. I'm worried it'll start leaking once I do it up again

Thanks

Fair enough, could well do... Haha yeah they're good at that, new drain screw solves it and is only a few pennies from pug last time i checked, if ever you need one. Glad to hear the map tweak/new fpr has sorted it anywho, bacn to tuning! Big Grin

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Paul_13 - 06-07-2015

It's only masking the problem until I get round to sorting the CR pump.

I may stick the JP map back on just to rule out the fpr

The reason I say that because after cleaning the fpr it was fine for a good hour and then it cut again

Bi-yearly Clean!

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Poodle - 07-07-2015

Fair enough, worth a look, just for your own interest if nothing else. She's looking good!

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Paul_13 - 18-07-2015

Fitted the wishbone bushes and very happy with them. They were very easy to fit.

Also fitted a k&n filter which has freed up the top a bit which is good.

Doesn't feel as fast as I think the CR pump is dying

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Paul_13 - 18-07-2015

Just about to roll on 190k

It's like jekyll and Hyde at the moment, one moment really fast the next really lacking, it would of cut out unless someone had adjusted the parameters on the map

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Paul_13 - 02-08-2015

Right fitted the r70 pump

Won't do that again in a hurry, that bottom bolt on the pump is a nightmare.

I'm going to load the JP Stage 2 map back on and see if the cutting out has stopped and go from there.

1800 bar sensor next and see how much power I can get out of it. Might RR it for a laugh

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Paul_13 - 02-08-2015

f*cking thing just cut out

With which map on?

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Paul_13 - 02-08-2015

The modified one.

I've just watched the measured vs requested and it reached 500 bar.

Just normal driving around it reached 200

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Paul_13 - 06-08-2015

Well the pump turned up Smile

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Paul_13 - 07-08-2015

Hmm faulty fpr already causing the engine to run on. Now it's in limp mode

Going to change the FPR

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Paul_13 - 07-08-2015

Just changed the FPR and it's reading spot on now on PP2K

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Niall - 07-08-2015

Pretty sure this car is broken for more time than its actually working

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Paul_13 - 07-08-2015

It hasn't caught up with the gti yet lol

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Niall - 07-08-2015

Oh you mean the GTi where you KEPT destroying engines. You are the sole cause for J4RS lumps becoming hard to get hard of lmao

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Paul_13 - 07-08-2015

lol

Like Hitler to the Jews

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Paul_13 - 08-08-2015

So far so good

News to put the original map back on and see if it cuts

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Jonny81191 - 08-08-2015

Maybe try a pro_steve map, you'll probably have fewer issues. Noticed a few of the JP maps having this sort of problem.

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Paul_13 - 08-08-2015

Don't worry that's in the pipeline

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Frosty - 09-08-2015

That R70 you just fitted a recon unit then? You dont seem to be having much luck with this lately

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Paul_13 - 09-08-2015

Yes a recon pump, supplied with a faulty FPR.

Changed that and it's been fine.

Going to get a different map, and go for a 1800 bar sensor.

Had any one got the part number for the sensor? I've seen it several times but I can't find the bloody thing now
