You can do a really pikey turbo setup if your handy with a welder for under a grand. Really easy to turbo, even the standard internals on a jp4 like mine can handle about 200 bhp on standard internals with an appropriate head gasket.

Spend a couple of grand on forged internals and 300bhp is easily achievable with aftermarket ecu and higher capacity injectors. Basically....

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - Piggy - 27-08-2013

although there is 300bhp jp4s on stock internals out there

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - Pugmarshall - 27-08-2013

JP4's have skirt jets Wink it's not really the power that limits you, it's the boost and obviously how it's built....

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - ozonehostile - 28-08-2013

Only just starting to realise how small a 106 is. Makes a 206 look massive!

i shall deem it broken until it stops leaking coolant and the new brake hoses are on lol

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - ozonehostile - 29-09-2013

long time no update, but i bought the rallye a present :p

yeah, twin turbo setup from a jdm subaru legacy. start to design a manifold is the next step then worry about engine management

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - Connor - 29-09-2013

And on this day. Every single f*ck was given

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - Jake - 29-09-2013

Twin turbo s1 is probably the best idea anyone's had... Ever.

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - 306Dan - 29-09-2013

I fully expect the clutch to go again soon, it's exploded before with the 1.6 power lol

This is going to be simply Epic.

and thats an old video...shame on you spammin a vid on your own thread....

AND doing all this WHILST on the motorway!!!!

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - Dean - 04-10-2013

Don't think I've seen an s1 turbo, plenty of s2's when I was on the 106owners. So a twin tub should be epic. N'uff said

Yeah will certainly enjoy the challenge of twin turbo manifold.

It will probably be put in motion after Xmas

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - Dicky - 08-10-2013

Twin turbo s1.. epic!

Manifold is going to be a farce mind!

The clutch failing won't have anything to do with the power mate, it's only an extra ~30bhp and ~25lbft...

But there is NO way the standard clutch will hold the power if you turbo it!

u

Or the diff /driveshafts....... This is probably the most expensive idea I've ever had haha

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - Pugmarshall - 09-10-2013

The diff's are common for exploding on VTR's, and they're 90/98bhp LOL

RE: Ozonehostile 's broken 106 rallye - ozonehostile - 14-10-2013

Turbo conversion will commence in the new year. Thinking over options and decided that the most likely route to take will be a single turbo setup using a t25/td04 kind of size just to get it up and running with a 250 bhp sort of figure being the aim then once everything is sorted and running strong it will be time for twin turbo. Lots of things to think about like what gearbox to use to make the most of the dramatic increase in torque and power, probably a Be box with uprated clutch and a quiafe diff to match.

With manifold, turbo, cams, possibly forged pistons and decompression measures, mapping and uprated components I can hopefully have a sub 300bhp rallye on the road for under 2 grand/a months wages

And just to make this a more interesting update, here's an old picture from a previous owner
