I'm so amazed that the little puggles hold up so well when rolled - not that I intend to try it but it's kinda reassuring. So glad you're ok, Maria, seeing crashes/crashed cars is such a drastic reminder of one's own mortality... Always sends shivers down my spine!

procta Wrote:maria why go thru the insurance on this, be more hassle tbh.

She hasn't got £1000 to pay for the 6

Re: marias rallye :( - devils_fuel - 30-01-2012

^^^^ but if you're going knock for knock...why should she pay for the 6?, if so the 6 driver should pay for hers...they're both in the wrong!

She went into the back/side of the 6. Insurance will prob say its her fault tbh

Re: marias rallye :( - devils_fuel - 30-01-2012

But technically both at fault, so Knock for knock

devils_fuel Wrote:But technically both at fault, so Knock for knock
They wont see it that way. Like dum said earier you are supposed to leave enough room so that if that car were to stop. You could stop with ample time. Unfortunatly i rhink this will go down as maria at fault

devils_fuel Wrote:But technically both at fault, so Knock for knock

It wasn't though was it? She ran into back of another car, her fault 100%, even if I do get some abuse for it Wink

Re: marias rallye :( - devils_fuel - 30-01-2012

I crashed in to the back of someone, wrote both cars off and proved it wasn't my fault, it was his for stopping in thick fog without lights on...he hates me as my parents know him...he thought he got away under the crash in to the back of someone rule and I'd buy him a nice new car Wink

Get the CCTV Maria, I cant hurt Smile

If you hit the rear it's your fault. That's how the insurers see it unfortunately Sad

That's exceptional circumstances. In most cases, If you go into the back of someone, it's your fault. I can only think of two instances where it isn't.

Re: marias rallye :( - Scott - 30-01-2012

1. Where they reverse into you?
2. ??

Re: marias rallye :( - Niall - 30-01-2012

If they have bulbs out or don't have there lights on when they should. They have to be suitably visable at all times

Re: marias rallye :( - kingy - 30-01-2012

i went into the back of a car in a fully loaded removal van at a crossing. we were both stopped then the women started to pull off then for whatever reason decided to slam on her brakes in the middle of the crossing. i had to stop 7.5 tons of metal and furniture. i did so but only after i had nudged her foeward 6 feet.
now why did she suddenly brake? no reason at all.
but yet it was my fault.
bloke gets out playing f*ck with me, but was his mrs fault i think. not mine. grrr. makes me mad just thinking about it.
he was lucky he never got a ping on his nose.
its all wrong.

Re: marias rallye :( - Niall - 30-01-2012

You should be leaving a suitable gap to be able to stop incase the person in front has to emergency stop. Sorry mate but is the law

Re: marias rallye :( - kingy - 30-01-2012

i know its the law. but sometimes the law aint always right.

yeah i should have left a big enough gap but we only just pulled off from the crossing. i was still in 1st gear.

whats gonna stop first, a renault clio or a fully loaded removal van.she even admited that she didnt know why she braked. just panicked. for what i dont know.

so i see that as her fault. not mine.

Re: marias rallye :( - kingy - 30-01-2012

should she have just stopped in the middle of a crossing anyway?

Re: marias rallye :( - 4WayDiablo - 30-01-2012

kingy Wrote:should she have just stopped in the middle of a crossing anyway?
She probably shouldnt but you should always leave enough room for you to stop in the distance between you and where thier car is
Thats what i was told
Always expect the unexpected

NiallHarper Wrote:If they have bulbs out or don't have there lights on when they should. They have to be suitably visable at all times

Or you can prove negligence of the driver in front BUT you have followed the rules of the highway code to a T

Re: marias rallye :( - kingy - 30-01-2012

well, dont know what to say.
suppose you had to be their.

i understand 100% what your saying but i dont think its always as easy as : you hit me so its your fault:

No I agree with you it's not but unfortunately the law doesn't see it like that. The law sees it all in black and white and we all know there's silver German cars that put a spanner in the works! Lol

Re: marias rallye :( - Dum-Dum - 30-01-2012

Guys, this isnt the place to discuss fault, Im sure Maria is gutted enough as it is without the thought of loosing her excess and NCB

Re: marias rallye :( - devils_fuel - 30-01-2012
