I've just inherited an old light bar from a mini but without the spots, Niall i'll be getting rectangular spot lights with the grilles like you suggested, they're actually not that expensive. Need to figure out wiring though, i hate the stuff! RE: The Meatwagon - Niall - 21-02-2013 do you want them to come on with the main beams? If so, power them off the battery via a relay that is activated by a main beam circuit. Simples. RE: The Meatwagon - cwspellowe - 21-02-2013 I don't know how to wire relays Wait.. now i do RE: The Meatwagon - Connor - 21-02-2013 Niall, Ill save you all the hinting, draw him a wiring diagram with wire numbers on... RE: The Meatwagon - Niall - 21-02-2013 ok...... Pin 86 on the relay to earth you want to tap a wire from one of the high beams to pin 85 pin 30 needs to be attached directly to the battery (with a inline fuse) Pin 87 needs to be connected to the + of all your lights then, you just run all the earths from your lights to the body somewhere and job done. RE: The Meatwagon - cwspellowe - 22-02-2013 Cheers Niall. Just went to the car park round the corner for a few impromptu pics, and a crowd of about 30-40 kids gathered to have a gawp too. Some interesting comments, most of the guys thought it was awesome, the girls did the whole "i mean, it's not even a nice car anyway" thing haha. One girl did come out with "why are you taking pictures? It's shit?" to which I replied "I know. It's mine". Cue the poor 15 year old girl looking a bit embarrassed but hey ho. Bit annoyed at the quality, my tripod's gone a bit wobbly, the joys of a £20 cheapo. Ah well. You get the idea. RE: The Meatwagon - WiNgNuTz - 22-02-2013 It actually looks really good with the rear windows sprayed. Kinda van-like. I like it. RE: The Meatwagon - Jonny81191 - 22-02-2013 Epic. Love it so much!!! RE: The Meatwagon - cwspellowe - 22-02-2013 (22-02-2013, 11:44 PM)PE02KHG Wrote: Metal bullbars are illegal. Matt black plastic however?!? Win. These aren't bullbars and it's a very grey area. Bullbars as per VOSA's regulations are Frontal Impact Protection Systems (EU definition) whereas an A-frame is deemed a mount for accessories. Also the legislation makes the manufacture and sale of metal bull bars illegal after 2007 for road use, however cars with them fitted before that date are unaffected. One could argue that technically the car had them fitted years ago, and only just refitted them. How would they know that the previous owner hadn't mounted bull bars for use on his farm? Impossible to prove, massive grey area, but least likely to cause issues would be an A-frame as it can be argued it's not impact protection. Lots of VW T5's etc run them, and new Transits, so i'd have to be damned unlucky to be told to take them off. If I also buy second hand bars they don't have to be plastic or comply with EU directives, that can only be applied to post-2007 dated bars. Like I said, WAY complicated subject. RE: The Meatwagon - Pete - 22-02-2013 That photoshop NEEDS to become reality! RE: The Meatwagon - Jenkosowls - 23-02-2013 Adding further more to blood parts you need bloody finger drag marks along the car where zombies have tried to grab hold of the car! Shotgun tail pipes needed to oh and some sort of plough front end for show season |
