Win win!!Tom you need to stop worrying, just decide that as long as your getting over 50mpg that its alright. Well, its not really alright lol. That said I have managed to really cut down my milage this week and have been driving more carefully for ~80% of the time so hopefully the mpg getts better, although with the cold temps I doubt it will! RE: FAO Fooby - THE_Liam - 05-12-2012 50mpg is more than alright Tom... RE: FAO Fooby - Jonny81191 - 05-12-2012 Wish I got 50 MPG driving like I do. Used almost 1/4 of a tank since i filled up the other day, only done 115 miles RE: FAO Fooby - Niall - 05-12-2012 (05-12-2012, 09:54 PM)Jonny81191 Wrote: Wish I got 50 MPG driving like I do. I have done 120 miles from home to reading and back and some other little journeys, and some hooning and ive only done 1/4 of a tank! Mine really seems to be rinsing it now, was at half a tank today and 180 miles! I really hpe its just the guage being French! Thats one of few things that was good in the golf, the gauge was always bang on.......the 306 one seems to just guess how much fuel is in there. Which should theoretically be good for my mpg lol. RE: FAO Fooby - THE_Liam - 05-12-2012 We know how to use B roads up here mate RE: FAO Fooby - Toms306 - 05-12-2012 (05-12-2012, 10:10 PM)THE_Liam Wrote: We know how to use B roads up here mate Surely theres old people up North too? Or do they all come down here to retire? RE: FAO Fooby - Jonny81191 - 05-12-2012 what liam means is we overtake them like they aren't there. They are programmed so they only go down in steps. the 306 one is basically a variable resistor with a restriction on the float to stop it bouncing all over the place. RE: FAO Fooby - THE_Liam - 05-12-2012 Also, they know how to drive. You wanna try catching old farmers on the Dales back roads that they know like the back of their hand, you've never seen a Defender shift like that! You have to remember I'm in a stage 1 HDi though...I forget myself half the time and expect a little more power than never appears lol. But seriously, where I live is crap, there are so few 'safe' overtaking places its just annoying. Yeah I did notice the float on the pumps were different, you can feel the 'steps' on the golf one, where the 306 one is just smooth...I just assumed it was because the 306 one was worn out though lol, didn't realise VW had made thiers better to start with. RE: FAO Fooby - THE_Liam - 05-12-2012 That's a point Jonny, might be driving up to Cumbria over the weekend for a night run over some of the passes before the snow starts closing them, if I do are you in? RE: FAO Fooby - Jonny81191 - 05-12-2012 yes. obviously. but you may have missed your chance, it's snowed a lot on the tops, i suspect the passes will be shut RE: FAO Fooby - Toms306 - 05-12-2012 Was gonna say surely its too late as its snowed already. Its snowed here today.....an inch of snow on the floor and the bin men cancelled their collection!? We need some northern bin men down here. RE: FAO Fooby - THE_Liam - 05-12-2012 F*cks sake RE: FAO Fooby - Jonny81191 - 05-12-2012 Sounds like a severe case of southernfairyitis. It's very contagious. RE: FAO Fooby - THE_Liam - 05-12-2012 I know the buttertubs is still open, might just do that RE: FAO Fooby - Jonny81191 - 05-12-2012 Kirkstone should be, i'll have a gander at traffic reports RE: FAO Fooby - Scott - 05-12-2012 f*ck you guys, I get 300 miles to a tank |
