Had a pretty cool day helping Niall grind his valves into his head for the rebuild.
Toby came over and we did a bit to his car, on his massive round trip of the south of england! Haha was good to see you Toby.
Going to tint the headlights yellow tomorrow with light tinting film (kindly donated by Niall) and see how that looks, and hopfully fit the exhaust fire ring from the manifold to the downpipe as it it blowing more than an Asian hooker...

Love to see a guide for the card reader mate. looks epic and what paint did you use for it? Looks like a pretty good match for the stock dash colour!

Didn't get masses done to the car today as spent most of it helping Niall sort the head out on his engine rebuild. Glad to see it coming on well and can't wait to see it fitted.
Finally fitted my other black mask headlight. Only after 6 months! Lol

And then ground down the lip on the butterfly to aid airflow through the throttle body. The interior walls of the throttle body were then also polished to help further.

Whilst it may not look a lot, it's increased the area that the air can flow though by about 5% so hopefully should free up a little something...
Tomorrow I have to replace the fire ring connecting the downpipe to the manifold... Really not looking forward to it....

The exhaust is blowing from the downpipe/manifold joint. Got it half off and then got the hump with it and ignored it or the afternoon lol

I rang a local garage and they said 20 quid. I was like result! So took it down there and they pretty much said f*ck that and didn't want to do it lol.
We broke a 1.8 before and ended up throwing an angle grinder in the engine bay to cut it off lol
Not looking forwards to it at all....

i dont blame them! when i put the engine in mine, i forgot to knock out one of the washer things from the manifold where the bolt goes in to hold the cat on, so i had to swap over manifolds, in situ, then bolt it all back up again for the mot. LOTS of swearing, such a pig

Time for an update!
New cat now on the car, had one made at longlife last week, so nice and shiny now! The old one was blocked solid, to the point where the back pressure wouldn't let the engine start at all...
So anyway, weekend is here, and it would be rude not to partake in car related activities!

No not stripey, just pink inside. Ok, how long are you gonna have it for I can come down and pick up up some time in the van...
Mines ok, but needs some plastic welding etc so just wanted one to redo and be able to take my time, not having to rush to get it back on...
