ph2 gti6 on a budget (a big budget) - THE_Liam - 02-11-2012 Hasn't it already got a stainless on it? Sounds f*cking epic anyway... Re: ph2 gti6 on a budget (a big budget) - Alee83 - 02-11-2012 You are really lucky mate! Gonna my belt done soon, just for piece of mind! ![]() RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget (a big budget) - kernow_joe - 02-11-2012 as with everything I haven't replaced the more I look into it the more its a bit lashed together. one I'm looking at is full magnex system so should still sound porn RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget (a big budget) - kernow_joe - 02-11-2012 picked up the exhaust earlier seems to be about 2.5" bore 3" exit looks to be alright not sure what make it is, all good condition though, he had a cat aswell which I have now, but was off an xsi anyone know if it will fit or not? RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget (a big budget) - samass - 02-11-2012 In a word, nope. The xsi cat is longer than the gti one, as the manifold on the xsi is shorter than the gti manifold. Could always chop about 2 inches I think and then it should fit... Chop and weld I mean, obv RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget (a big budget) - kernow_joe - 02-11-2012 BOLLOCKS! ah well to the scrap yard tomorrow it is then Re: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 10-11-2012 So finally got round to having a look at my cat, turns out its fine just needed a little patching up. The offending blow whole. ![]() All welded up now, also tagged it up little surprise for next the next person that removes it. ![]() Will refit tomorrow along with new cat back stainless, turns out the mid section that was fitted was standard, excited to see what its going to sound like RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget - Tom - 10-11-2012 How lovely. Hahaha ![]() Re: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 12-11-2012 There was already 'what a f*cking joke' written in the waxoyl so thought I'd add to it ![]() New exhaust on and not blowing any more, needs a little adjustment to get it to sit perfect but its dark and I can't be bothered ![]() RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 17-11-2012 looks a bit darker in the flesh ![]() loving the new exhaust too ![]() RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 20-11-2012 finally took this for its MOT today hadn't had time to change the brake pipes on the rear so asked garage to do it, spoke to him this evening turns out pipes are fused solid to the compensator so going to need a new one of those ![]() bloody annoying paying out for rear brakes to work, who f*cking needs them?! apart fom that only thing wrong is headlight aim, so all good I guess RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget - vincent1 - 20-11-2012 good project thread i wonder why the garage wont cut of the old brake pipes on the compensator then use a tight fitting socket on the union heads and remove them that way thats what i do. RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 20-11-2012 cheers bud. spoke to him earlier said he'd tried everything and its just rusted solid, family friend so I know he knows what he's doing, just annoying I want it back, and tbh if its that rusted doesn't do any harm to replace it RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget - vincent1 - 20-11-2012 good point at least it will last you a good few years. RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 20-11-2012 well not fitting a brand new one, that would be madness!! just found someone breaking an estate close so picking the compensator up of him tomorrow afternoon £20 that was easier than I thought RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget - Midnightclub - 20-11-2012 I didn't think that the cars with abs had a compensator? RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 20-11-2012 you make a good point .... mine defenitely does now, but ... you know ... french car, no logic... might not need one then as it definitely has abs up front, and compensator on back RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget - Midnightclub - 20-11-2012 Hmmm... Could of had a beam change at some point in its life? Worst case if it fails on it again you could always sack it off I guess RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget - samass - 20-11-2012 mine had abs and had a compensator, i think it was mainly a ph2 thing? RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 21-11-2012 well picking a new one up tomorrow for £20 so not the end of the world, going to let the garage fit it though I cba in the dark and the rain outside!! typical french car consistensy though! RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget - kernow_joe - 21-11-2012 quick sneak picture getting there ![]() ![]() Re: ph2 gti6 on a budget - Alee83 - 21-11-2012 Niiiiice.....! ![]() RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget - Seid' - 24-11-2012 what? :O a gti for that price. god bless uk lol f*ck portugal. here are more than 6k€ (~£5k) RE: ph2 gti6 on a budget - spike2002 - 24-11-2012 The car is looking good dude ![]() (20-11-2012, 10:42 PM)Midnightclub Wrote: I didn't think that the cars with abs had a compensator?
