RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - Chris_90 - 15-08-2015 Will them groves help it hold in any way? Or just to make it look pretty? Ive fitted a luk kit to my zx think it'd be ok with just a pressure plate or would I be best with full kit? RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - bashbarnard - 15-08-2015 I assumer they may help dissipate heat a tad quicker. Wouldnt of thought they would hold any better though. RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - Toms306 - 15-08-2015 Aren't they there to 'shave' the centre plate to stop it glazing with heat, like brake disc grooves? RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - bashbarnard - 15-08-2015 No.idea but there not worth the extra £100 expenditure lol RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - Piggy - 15-08-2015 Yeah the pressure plates are just grooved and paint valeo, valeo bearing too. The right one looks like a standard jobbie painted black with grooves machined in. Yeah the 1 on the right is the 1 i had issues with. It was painted but i painted it again so i could see where it was catching the the gearbox RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - bashbarnard - 20-08-2015 This ones just arrived RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - darrenjlobb - 20-08-2015 Out of interest, could you measure the depth of the splines chap? Looks to be possibly changed again, hopefully deeper to prevent the wear / noise issue! RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - bashbarnard - 20-08-2015 Yeah no problem 22mm by a tape measure. Thats all ive got at home so could be a little out. Can get the verniers on it tomorrow for a more accurate one if you want. Also just a side note. Friction materials not very thick. Sprung vs un sprung. - Frosty - 20-08-2015 The 2 unsprung friction plates I have for an Xud are different. 1 looks the the same as you got RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - bashbarnard - 20-08-2015 The one your running? Sprung vs un sprung. - Frosty - 20-08-2015 The xud just has a standard clutch ATM. Poss going to look into getting the re-plated though RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - ADV_93 - 22-08-2015 My paddle been in a week now. Runs fine. Get the usual rattling on idle with the clutch but goes away when you press the pedal. Works fine and grips like mad! ...so far RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - bashbarnard - 24-08-2015 So ive sent the clutch back with a spare input shaft i had lying about so they can rectify the mistake. I have been dealing with linda the entire time and she seems more than happy to help and the customer service has been good. Even said thankyou for me offering to send the input shaft so they could see the problem first hand. Although Yes there is an issue at this time. it is being sorted as we speak. RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - ADV_93 - 27-08-2015 What is the issue? Play betwern the splines? RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - bashbarnard - 27-08-2015 Yeah. Ill put a video up tonight and link it. RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - bashbarnard - 27-08-2015 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=C1bz0Xm4_Bo RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - ADV_93 - 27-08-2015 Looks like im in trouble RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - bashbarnard - 27-08-2015 (27-08-2015, 05:23 PM)ADV_93 Wrote: Looks like im in trouble Oh dear. Is yours the same?? RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - ADV_93 - 27-08-2015 It rattles on idle. Or with clutch disengaged. Causes quicker wear or anything? RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - bashbarnard - 27-08-2015 I would assume so. Not good. Id expect a little rattle. Not a lot. Hows it holding boost. RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - ADV_93 - 28-08-2015 Drives fine and holding but in barely pushing it atm. Only running a tiny GT20 RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - darrenjlobb - 28-08-2015 That is the problem I was talking about regarding the width / quality of the spline, this seems to have been an ongoing issue for some time... It will cause extra wear and I guess eventually will wear thin enough / strip it and loose drive, although I'm yet to see this happen / have given several of the effected units some serious abuse! Yet to decide on clutch for the bus, but until this issue is ironed out / resolved im going to hang fire / weigh up other options as its far from ideal. RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - ADV_93 - 31-08-2015 If any issues persist ill update. RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - bashbarnard - 02-09-2015 So they've fixed it and its back!! Appears to have a sachs centre bit in now. Barely any movement on the splines. Can upload a video later if you guys want to see?? Sprung vs un sprung. - zx_volcane - 02-09-2015 Great news, yes get a vid up. Hopefully this irons out the issue for future customers RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - bashbarnard - 02-09-2015 So here is a short video so you guys can see. not the best not being near a gearbox. for all the people that say cg dont have good customer service. i sent this to them last Tuesday after speaking to linda who dealt with my clutch the numerous times i rang. They got this turned around in five working days. obviously havnt got the clutch in yet. maybe next week now. But i would be more than happy to deal with them again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nq9NQZfPUcc&feature=youtu.be RE: Sprung vs un sprung. - Piggy - 02-09-2015 Kinky (27-08-2015, 05:49 PM)ADV_93 Wrote: It rattles on idle.
