Where I park I have to bump up into a kerb so lowering the front isn't an option. The rear is rubbing like crazy as the wheels are wider

Fitting the solid mounts as well.

Going to attempt to raise it now

RE: Paul's estate mk2, JP Stage 2 map on - Paul_13 - 10-05-2015

Raised it 35mm on the rear, now it's level.
Fitted the solid mounts as well. The nearside bar was a twat to get out, the other side was fine.

Fixed a few problems I came across which took a while

Was going to reseal the exhaust and refit it but I ran out of time

Home brew torsion bar removal tool

RE: Paul's estate mk2, JP Stage 2 map on - shervo - 10-05-2015

How easy did the torsion bars come out using that method?

RE: Paul's estate mk2, JP Stage 2 map on - Paul_13 - 11-05-2015

Bit of tapping with a hammer and a bit of force it came out

RE: Paul's estate mk2, JP Stage 2 map on - Paul_13 - 16-05-2015

Very happy with how the car is performing at the moment even with the clutch slipping as bad as it is.

Sacked off the hid's and put some night breaker plus in

Noticed the turbo spiking at 21psi which I may need to sort out

Handles well now I've got 4 tyres the same size on!

Re-sealed the exhaust.

Just need to do tracking next.

Jobs to do -
tracking
top mount bearings
wishbone bushes
short shift
clutch
Maybe stick some 21mm bars in and hybrid ARB
R70 pump and map tweak to around 165bhp

That was a great read great pictures too! (I'm in the process of 'studying' for college exams) Once I get these exams out of the way, I'll be doing something similar with my 3dr HDi. Car is looking well!

I really need to return that to you lol

RE: Paul's estate mk2, JP Stage 2 map on - Paul_13 - 26-05-2015

Did the the tracking again, amazes me how long it takes for the suspension to settle back in after jacking it up.
It was still toe out even though I thought I let it bed back in properly

Stop fannying around and replace the clutch! :p

RE: Paul's estate mk2, JP Stage 2 map on - Paul_13 - 26-05-2015

Ha, yep needs doing!
This weekends job possibly

Worrying me as it took you soo long to do yours.

You stop fannying around and give it MOAR POWAAA

RE: Paul's estate mk2, JP Stage 2 map on - Paul_13 - 30-05-2015

Clutch changed today, hdi flywheel has been replaced with a gti 6 flywheel and I used a dturbo clutch

All in all went well, cable wasn't too much hassle. I don't know what you old ladies moan about.

Had the box off in 1.5 hours, box went back on easily.

The cable without the auto adjuster works a treat, the clutch pedal is feather light

Excuse the fog lights

RE: Paul's estate mk2, JP Stage 2 map on - Paul_13 - 06-06-2015

Fitted the quick shift earlier, bit of a faff but it's done now.
2nd gear feels really odd. I read in nialls guide it can feel odd

Your project is brilliant mate, and a fantastic guide with the fmic setup, I wish I was brave enough to attempt it but I'm not, so I'll stick to a boring stage 1 lol

RE: Paul's estate mk2, JP Stage 2 map on - Paul_13 - 07-06-2015

Cheers mate see you're from Reading, where abouts?

RE: Paul's estate mk2, JP Stage 2 map on - fgrc76 - 07-06-2015

I live in Tilehurst West Reading

RE: Paul's estate mk2, JP Stage 2 map on - andyyy - 07-06-2015

How's the new clutch holding up to the power ? Has it stayed just as light with the new cable setup ?

Yeah the way to get the clutch cable in easier is to remove the bit of the blowers that gets right in the way.

Fair few people from reading on here Smile

RE: Paul's estate mk2, JP Stage 2 map on - Paul_13 - 07-06-2015

Been good soo far. Planting it in 5th it was slipping the tiniest amount but that seems to of stopped. Guess the clutch has bedded in

And yes removing the AC pipes made life 1000x easier, why Peugeot designed it like that is beyond me!

I thinking of organising a RR day once you get your car running mate

RE: Paul's estate mk2, JP Stage 2 map on - welshpug - 07-06-2015

might be interested in that if its this side of Reading or even Swindon :p

RE: Paul's estate mk2, JP Stage 2 map on - andyyy - 07-06-2015

Good good, really is a massive change makes you realise how heavy HDI clutch's are

Yeah I meant that plastic bit inside the car but yes would have struggled with those in the way

Would definitely be up for a reading meet, running or on the road as there's a fair difference !

RE: Paul's estate mk2, JP Stage 2 map on - Paul_13 - 19-06-2015

Got some Fog light blanks I need to stick on.

May get round to fitting the r70 pump some time soon and rail sensor

Only RR I know of in Reading is the old Clifford Cox place up near Rivermead. Not much parking space though.

Actually, I think there is one in Wokingham. I know where it is, but can't remember what it's called. Went there some years ago for a Dyno shootout (Arthur Daley Jag with a tweaked & blown Chevy V8 won).

RE: Paul's estate mk2, JP Stage 2 map on - Paul_13 - 04-07-2015

Had a problem where it was cutting out at 3k full throttle

Gave the fpr a good clean and it seems to of solved that, blasted some clutch and brake cleaner through the holes at the Base of the shaft

Also gave it a service, found a brand new oil and oil filter lying around so banged them on, happy days. There's me dreading a trip to Halfords

Changed the fuel filter to a genuine pug item

Going to buy a k&n panel filter I think for this

Fitted some Fog light blanks, pics to follow

Can't for the life of me find where this second horn plug is in the inner wing!

I like the torsion bar puller. I'm busy knocking something similar up at work. Are you smacking the bar, beam or the bolt head (or all of them lol) with the hammer when the bolt is loaded up? Surprised that bolt hasn't snapped!

Trying to strip my xsara beam in the garage, slide hammer isn't touching it.

RE: Paul's estate mk2 - Paul_13 - 04-07-2015

Good luck stripping a xsara beam, I've had to cut torsion bars out as they were that rusty
