RE: 205 DTI - engine in :) teething problems :( - Paul_13 - 13-05-2016 ![]() Used a Pugracing adapter to be able to use a 205 gti oil pressure sender and I'll have this hooked up to the gti clocks so everything works - oil pressure /temp etc Thinking of sticking an oil cooler on this I've got lying around On a positive note the actuator now clears, might have to shave a bolt housing off the cold side of the turbo as it's very close to the uj RE: 205 DTI - engine in :) teething problems :( - Paul_13 - 19-05-2016 ![]() Just made up the loom which retains the brown plugs on the gti. I'm installing an oil temp sensor in the sump as there's 2 sump plugs. So I'll have Oil warning light Oil pressure and Oil temp all through the gti clocks with a dturbo Rev counter. ![]() These are the only 2 wires I'm struggling with, it's the wire for the pump solenoid which goes through the relay does this need to be switched or permanent live, I'm guessing permanent RE: 205 DTI - engine in :) teething problems :( - Paul_13 - 22-05-2016 More progress, fuel tank swapped and fuel lines Wiring half done Rad in Had to ditch PAS Fuel lines in the bay done ![]() Got my old wheels back ![]() ![]() RE: 205 DTI - engine in :) teething problems :( - Piggy - 22-05-2016 Close now then pal? RE: 205 DTI - mot tomorrow! - Paul_13 - 25-05-2016 Me being an idiot, didn't tighten the subframe bolts. Somethings changed fueling wise, smoking a hell of a lot more for some reason Passenger door playing up, side light bulb playing silly buggers All done ready for retest. Fueling down as low as possible, but still some smoke out the back. No where near as much as it did RE: 205 DTI - mot tomorrow! - Piggy - 25-05-2016 Nothing major...you'll have that sorted... Just wind fuel back n add throttle stop for the MOT RE: 205 DTI - retest tomorrow! - Paul_13 - 26-05-2016 Some one mentioned heat soak on another thread, had a good drive of this yesterday and the inlet was cool, so intercooler is working well RE: 205 DTI - retest tomorrow! - Alan_M - 26-05-2016 (25-05-2016, 05:11 PM)Paul_13 Wrote: Somethings changed fueling wise, smoking a hell of a lot more for some reason Is that video you sent me before or after fiddling with the fuel? RE: 205 DTI - retest tomorrow! - Paul_13 - 26-05-2016 Before RE: 205 DTI - retest tomorrow! - Paul_13 - 26-05-2016 I've turned the fuel down that much its worse than a NA diesel to drive. I think after about 20 seconds of foot flat in 2nd it finally comes on boost RE: 205 DTI - retest tomorrow! - Paul_13 - 26-05-2016 ![]() Got the glow plug light working ![]() Honda S2000 filter Well it passed and nearly blew it up 5 mins later as It ran away. Something not right with the pump, it come on boost then as I had the fueling up high it ran away RE: 205 DTI - retest tomorrow! - procta - 26-05-2016 bloody hell! sods law that is! you put some time into it and then it decides to play funny f*ckers! RE: 205 DTI - retest tomorrow! - Paul_13 - 26-05-2016 Turned the fuel up too high, accelerated and came on boost and it just started redlining. Stuck it 5th and stalled it. Quite lucky really Something up with the pump, ideally needs rebuilding /resealing RE: 205 DTI - Dum-Dum - 27-05-2016 A new pump isn't the end of the world or I'm sure someone here could rebuild it for you. It's looking good though, nearly there, don't loose the love. RE: 205 DTI - Paul_13 - 27-05-2016 Feel like the challenge myself to be honest, there's a few mods I'd like to do. I've a spare 9mm pump lying around |
